Hey everyone!!
Sorry about being M.I.A past few months,I really had no internet access, being away from the virtual world for a net addict like me is the worst kind of detox. I turned cold turkey most of the time..
So when I couldn't blog,I shopped.. and I have pictures to prove it :D
 
I thought I'd share some pics of my May Makeup haul!
I snagged stuff from NYX, MUA,Lush,H2O,Fabinidia and some other random nail paints.Sorry I forgot to click the H2O body balms, I got kiwi and berry and those are pretty awesome for summer months.

 The high point of my haul was this NYX Black label lipstick in Midnight dinner,I'm officially a convert and am eying many more shades from this range.

Would you judge me if I told  you that  May'13 isn't officially over yet, I'm tempted to haul some more :P ;)

What NYX Claims about its HD eyeshadow base-

Prep your eyelids with this lightweight eye makeup primer that evens skin tone, smooths lines and ensures lasting makeup application. The High Definition Eye Shadow Base alleviates creases and pumps up the vibrancy of your eye shadow.

The base does even out the skin tone, but doesn't do anything to smooth out fine lines (that I'd think is the job of under eye cream,expecting this primer to multitask ain't actually fair).It does boost the vibrancy of the shadows and makes them last longer

The Ingredients-

NYX HD Eyeshadow base is Cruelty Free and lasts for 9 Months after opening.Each tube contains 8 grams of product & costs $ 7.

The doe foot applicator makes precise application of the base very easy, the packaging is very hygienic and functional.

Hey Girls, Just came across this announcement for International customers at Cherryculture shopping for NYX cosmetics.

Apparently due Manufacturer restriction based on distribution agreement CC may decline your NYX orders at checkout.

I'm not sure why this might be the case,but I guess it could be that NYX's local distribution agreements allow products to be sold at different prices (read higher prices),many customers might be ordering NYX products from CC at USA prices (read bargain basement prices) causing local distributors to possibly lose revenue.Now this is just a hypothesis,real reasons are not known to me.

If you are planning a NYX  haul at CC,I think now might be right time as its possible that CC might decline the NYX orders after 1.Jan 2012.

NYX CREAM BLUSH NATURAL AND TEA ROSE COMPARATIVE SWATCHES

For the pretty girls who keep getting foxed with online swatches of NYX cream blushes and wonder whether to choose Natural or Tea Rose?Here are the comparative swatches to make your online shopping a breeze.

NYX Natural is  bright dewy pink cream blush,almost a kissing cousin of MAC Ladyblush Blushcreme.

This is a universally flattering shade on fairer skin tones it gives happy flushed cheeks, on duskier gals this gives off a nice brightening glow.Gives a more youthful look to your skin, would highly recommend it!

NYX Tea Rose is a muted pink with warm earthiness,its slightly more grown up persons' blush, more suited for office wear type of shade.On duskier skin tones its quite muted.

NYX Cream Blush Tea Rose is gorgeous muted pink with warm earthiness.Its creamy blush which gives that lit from within glow.Its a great shade for office wear, when high shimmer, bright shades just won't do.The shade is great for most Indian skin tones.The color pay off is amazing, you need the slightest swipe on your cheeks to get a happy glow.

The creaminess means the blend-ability of the NYX Cream blushes is amazing, they far outscore even MAC or INGLOT Cream blushes.( I find MAC cream blushes slightly sticky & Inglot cream blush has mood swings based on the season. It freezes up in winters and melts in summer and works only in the spring /autumn months for me.)

The wear time is 3-4 hours with this blush, the high creaminess which makes blending a dream also means it slides off after 4 hours.

Each pan contains 3.5 grams of product & the price is INR 520-550/- in India depending upon which online retailer you buy from. The price at International site like www.cherryculture.com is INR 300/- plus shipping.

Overall thoughts- This is one versatile blush, for fairer maidens its a nice warming neutral pink for duskier divas this is great natural looking blush for soft glow.I'd definitely re-purchase this as it works great for office wear for me. Its cruelty free, pocket friendly blush. Definitely worth buying!

SMOKY BLACK AND GOLD EYES OF THE DAY

Here's a very quick and easy black-gold smoky eye makeup look. I wanted to use my NYX Flamingo eyeshadow to create some unique look.On its own Nyx Flamingo is a mauve gold duo-chrome shade and applies very sheer.But when paired on top of a black kohl / gel liner it tuns into a very vivid black gold shade. So here's what I used for the look.

Step 1. Start with black kajal /kohl and apply it on your upper lashline in thick swipes and create a black v shape on your eye's outer corner. Use a smudger and smudge and smoke out the kajal on the entire lid,leaving the inner corner very lightly shaded.

NYX EYESHADOW FLAMINGO REVIEW AND SWATCHES

NYX Flamingo is a sheer finish,  gold & mauve-purple duo-chrome eyeshadow.Its one of those unique shades which are difficult to find and ever harder to explain. I'd imagined Flamingo to be some sort of bright pinky-coral -gold shade but it turned out totally different, a pleasant surprise in fact.

I'd bought NYX Eyeshadow Trio in Golden/Rust/Walnut and in pan Walnut bronze & Flamingo looked so similar that I wondered about having similar shades in my collection, but both shades are very different on application.

Flamingo applies like a sheer wash of gold with light mauve purple undertones on the eyelids. Its too light to be visible on lighter skin tones very well. But duskier girls could rock it. It looks nice & sophisticate as an all over lid color.

The packaging is cute & simple, it comes in a 1 inch square pan and can be depotted for storage in a larger palette.

NYX TRIPLE EYE SHADOWS- GOLDEN,RUST,WALNUT BRONZE REVIEW SWATCHES

Get ready for beautiful festive eyes with this Über Gorgeous NYX eyeshadow trio in Golden / Rust /Walnut Bronze.
As promised here's the detailed review & swatches

The packaging is sleek & simple casing, though the shiny case attracts lot of finger prints. The viewing window on top is very helpful for spotting your eyeshadows in a rush. I was wondering if it would be difficult to open the lid on the palette,as many reviewers had complained that the lid is difficult to open, mine is surprisingly easy to open.

The "Triple Eye Shadows for Sex Eyes Only!" bit on the palette,sounds corny & makes the palette a bit tacky to look at.
