Kim Kardashian Inspired Smokey Grey eye makeup look

Kim Kardashian the veritable Queen of the Smokey eye makeup, usually sports a dark black smokey look, but one of my favorite Kim Kardashian smokey eye look, features her with grey smokey eyes.

I have had this pic on my scrap book of 'looks-to-do' for a very long time, and as my Project 101 Eye makeup looks has been slackening off, today I decided to finally give it this look a whirl.
I used MAC Heirloom Kohl pencil on 3/4th of my lid to create a grey smokey base, and it blended so well that I didn't need to top it off with powder shadow. This look was done in a jiffy and I thought it turned out quite well.
Kim sports a frosty pinkey nude lippie in this picure, but I decided to go with milky nude lips instead & I topped off this look with MAC Cremesheen lipglass-Pricvate screening (from the Reel Sexy collection)

Kareena Kapoor inspired monochromatic daytime Eye makeup look from Lakme fashion week 2012

As you all really loved my Kareena Kapoor's Lakme Fashion week 2012 inspired purple smokey eye makeup look, here's the most requested look from the collection which was a monochromatic day time one with winged eyeliner.

This look proved to be such bee-yatch!! First I realized my gel eyeliner pot had dried up and I revived it with Inglot Duraline and in the process got blackened inky fingers, which just refused to go,then just as I started doing eyes I realized I had smudges all over the place! If that wasn't bad enough my deep set eyes meant the winged eyeliner didn't quite turn out the way I wanted- Total kaput! Eeeeks!!

Finally  just when I was about to throw in the towel I managed to finish the look! Phew!! Hope you guys like the look :) (please say you do, I officially went bonkers with it :P)

Products Used
  • Maybelline eye studio gel eyeliner Black
  • Sleek i Divine storm eyeshadow palette- shades used Black, nude, taupe
  • Faces eyeliner pencil- white
  • Bourjois ultra curl mascara
  • New U lash glue and KKcenterHK false eyelashes

Lakme Fashion Week 2012 showcased Lakme's Monochrome collection and amongst the four looks featured on Kareena Kapoor was this beautiful purple smokey eye makeup look.
I love the combination of shimmery smokey purple color teemed with green gold and though this eye makeup looks intricate its surprisingly easy.

Kareena sports green contacts in the pics and it compliments the gorgeous green gold shade on Kareena's lower lashline.

  • Revlon black eye liner pencil used on the upper lashline
  • Colorbar I define pencil- Amethyst spark-used all over the eyelid as a base
  • Bourjois duochrome pencil Vert dore- Used on the lower lashline
  • Shimmery purple eyeshadow-from 120 eyeshadow palette used on the lids
  • Sleek i Divine storm palette-Golden beige shade used as  highlighter ,inner eye corner and inner corner of lower lashline, Matte black shade used for smoking out the outer eye corner
  • KKcenter HK false eyelashes and New U false eyelash glue.

Hope you all liked the looks, I'm planning to do the res tof the three looks features on Kareena in the Monochrome collection, comment and tell which look would you like to see next?

Friend's Wedding reception party-Eye makeup look

I just got back from my friend's wedding reception party and thought I'd show you guys the eye makeup look I wore to the event.
It was a Punjabi event with the typical Dilli's bling bling bling thrown in for good measure , by some strange coincidence every event I attend, I'm bound to bump into one of my Mommy-in-law's Kitty party friends, so its customary  to look the part of 'khaate-peete ghar ki Punjabi Bahu' ;)

Well armed with a license to dress up & deck out like a Christmas tree I wore a hot pink (rani color/magenta) saree with very heavy antique gold embroidery. (Gosh! that saree alone probably weighs a ton!)

Okay enough rambling,on to the makeup, I tried to keep my skin very fresh and moisturized.I used Kryolan TV paintstick as I didnt want whitish cast in flash photography.I buffed the foundation well to create a even skintone.
I wanted to wear more toned down shades of gold and bronze on my lids. So I used two of my most favorite shadows- MAC Musuem bronze and Glamour Doll eyeshadow-Prankster on my lids.I just used the tiniest hint of shimmery fuchsia on my crease and added a whole lot of drama with falsies. And I topped it all off with MAC cremesheen Speak Louder! Lippie.

Pleasantly the overall makeup look turned out quite glamorous & pretty!

Teal & Golden Olive eye makeup Look & Top 3 ways to have fun when there is no electricity!!

I'm sure most of you like me in North & North-eastern India would have been/are still reeling under power outage. Well good thing about living in the Millennium City a.k.a as Gurgaon you get pretty used to regular & extended power failures. The city survives on power back-ups,so while the 4 Northern states pass the buck on who sucked most power outta the Power grid-Its business as usual here!  Go Gurgaon!!

Okay enough cynicism for the day!

Well the look I'm showing you here was result of one such major power outage a few days back here in Millennium city. Yeah I know sounds pretty crazy, well actually there is a little story behind this look.
At the peak of sweltering heat we experienced one of the worst outages here in Gurgaon, while the diesel gen sets in our colony coughed & spluttered and chugged on, many other colonies were not quite so lucky..Two of my young sis-in-laws came over at our place to spend the night and pretty soon before we knew it, things turned in to an all Girls slumber party!!

Yay! While I was tutoring my young Sis (who is still in college btw) on the difference between blending brush and shader brush and how to do a cut crease and apply gel eyeliner, we ended up doing this eye makeup look. As this looks was achieved in semi darkness and frequent flip flops by electricity, its not exactly perfection. Mea Culpa

Products Used
  • NYX HD eyeshadow base- used all over lids
  • MAC Golden Olive Pigment Used on lids and lower lashline
  • MAC Teal pigment used on outer eye corner
  • Inglot Pearl 409 eyeshadow on the crease
  • Shimmery blonde gold shade used on inner eye corner from 120 eyeshadow palette
  • Coastal scents Buttercup hot pot used as nude highlighter
  • Maybelline Eyestudio black gel liner used to create winged liner
  • Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara
  • Colorbar Idefine eyeliner Flirty Turq used on lower lashline

Hope you guys liked the look, though its not perfect I had tons of fun doing it.

Here are my Top 3 ways to have fun there is no electricity supply-
1. Have a romantic candle light dinner.
2. Have a mini slumber party with your girlies- its time to dig out those lotion- potions and have a mini spa at home.
3.Play board games with your family & friends!

Kareena Kapoor's Heroine poster inspired eye makeup

So we all saw Kareena's latest posters from upcoming movie Heroine, with Bebo sprawled out on bed in a glam gold halter top and  golden brown shorts. Supposedly aping Mariah's sultry pose and flanked by Glossy Magz & Tabloid and a wine goblet thrown in for good measure to complete the Fallen Woman look.

Now I'm not mad over movies or fan crazed, but my interest was piqued by Bebo's super dramatic makeup.
She sports very angular, architectural brows which have obviously been filled out & worked upon quite a bit, 'coz they look totally unlike Bebo's natural brows.

Also the very dramatic eye makeup, heavily contoured cheeks and deep bordeaux lips look Glam albeit a tad OTT for the outfit she is wearing.

image source Google-copyrighted to respective owner

So as promised I wanted to take my Project 101 eye makeup looks out from the Cold storage and get back to doing makeup looks and I thought why not start with this one.

This look was incredibly confusing for me, not so much because of the technique, but 'coz Kareena is sprawled out and the picture is taken from an unusual angle, her eye makeup is visible from up-side down angle, plus the image above is so touched up & the lighting make it nearly impossible to make out the shades.

I cropped out Kareena's eye makeup from the pic above and rotated the image to get a clearer idea about the look.
Here's my version of the look, its inspired by Bebo's look in this poster, though I wouldn't call it an exact  copy, simply because I'm not sure about the shades Bebo is wearing and plus her pics show her eyes upside down and hence the outer corner shading gives the eyes a elongated shape in the pic.

To create the look I have used a neutral taupe shade all over my lids and lots of matte black on my crease and outer v, I've used a beige gold shade on my brow bone coupled with tons of kohl & mascara.

What do you think about the look? Love it-Hate it ? Comment & Tell :)
I need all the motivation possible to get me back to my favorite eye makeup project :)
