My entire MAC collection! :)

Hey Girlies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I had a pretty wonderful relaxed Sunday.
After a really long time I decided to re-arrange my vanity case.One thing led to another (like it always does..)pretty soon my de-clutter & organize mission faded in to oblivion and I started playing with my makeup :P

If you looked at the pic below and thought I was showing you some latest limited edition collection launch pics from MAC, dahlings you are so wrong! That's my entire MAC collection in all its glory! :D

As I lined up all my MAC makeup and fawned over my pretty juicy MAC lippies, it suddenly struck me Gosh! I really have accumulated a whole lot of MAC!! 
Two years back if somebody would have told me that I'd be forking out a 1000 bucks on a lippie, my frugal heart would have yelled expletives & done violent somersaults!!
Over the course of past 2 years I turned from somebody who wouldn't splurge on higher end stuff but hoard drugstore brands,to somebody who loosens her purse strings on MAC.

NO, I haven't hit the jackpot or married a Sheikh of any Fascist regime. I still have a whole long cost-benefit debate in my head before splurging at MAC counters, but now I realize I'm better off buying one good quality product I love and will use than 2 drugstore lippies which will gather dust on my dresser. I plan my MAC purchases for months & only pick up stuff I would actually use regularly.

MAC Creme in your coffee- My very first MAC purchase, I waited for over 6 months before splurging out on Creme in your coffee, totally love this baby for everyday work wear.

MAC Viva Glam VI, a pearlescent terracotta sheer lippie, totally adore this one and I've worn mine out :)

My Diwali Haul-Loads of makeup and some trinkets!

Diwali week, is the perfect excuse for makeup crazed women like me to shop, without a care...that is, until you see your credit card statement *booo that gives me jeepers creepers!*

I wasn't really planning to haul this much stuff, but well with the juicy sales & offers going on one thing led to another and I ended up hauling 4 new lippies a blush trio,a nail polish and a few trinkets..I also hauled tons of skincare and bath and body stuff... which well I'll review as and when I get time..for now lets just take a moment and ogle at the awesome super drool worthy colors here! I picked tons of corals, hot pinks,red and orange shades..

Here are my favorite lipsticks and lipgloss swatches. I love to wear these lipsticks/lipgloss with Smokey as well neutral eye makeup. I wore these shades on lips one by one and clicked the picture. I have numbered the shades so as you guys easily relate the color with the products. So tell me how my lips are looking with these shades????

Product 1   -Revlon Color Stay Overtime Perennial – Lipgloss

What I like –     very pretty color

                        Stay very long

                        Lips looks very beautiful

                        Day and night wear

What I dislike – pricey

                        Feel sticky without transparent gloss

                        Smell chemically

                        Very very difficult to remove without makeup remover

                        (I have found the magic with Vaseline petroleum jelly and voila!!!)

Product 2   - Maybelline Water Shine Liquid Diamonds 10 Pink Ruby – Lipgloss

What I like –    Decent Price
                        very pretty color

                        Good staying power 2-3 hrs (I can expect only this from lipglosses)

                        Lips looks very beautiful

                        Day and night wear

                        Smells good

What I dislike –        None

What I like –     very pretty color

                        Lips looks very beautiful with skokey eyes

Bobbi Brown lipsticks were an object of my desire forever, so after years & years of waiting I finally snagged Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color Lipstick Plum Rose during my recent Strawberrynet haul.

Plum Rose is a plum pink with a creamy finish and soft shine.In the tube it looks more like dirty mauvey pink and I half expected the shade to look flat and lifeless on my lips, but Oh My! was I in for a surprise. 

Plum rose is a deliciously pigmented, feather light lipstick and gives full coverage in a single swipe.Love the soft focus sheen on it and the lipstick is very hydrating.This shade is very versatile and would be universally flattering on all Indian skin tones.

The packaging- The lipstick comes in a classy matte black square tube, the lipstick tube ports a glossy matte band in the middle and the Iconic MUA's name Bobbi Brown is emblazoned at the base of the lipstick. The cap has a black sponge lining inside to prevent bumps and nicks in the lipstick.There is no color coded sticker at the base of the tube to identify the color.

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Brick-o-la 42M Review & Lip Swatches

Colorbar & I go a long way back. We met while I was in college on a shoestring makeup budget.Colorbar was the young and upcoming Indian makeup brand.We thought we were made for each other.We had a our highs with some amazing eyeliners and lip glosses and some lows with bad quality shadows.

Somewhere down the line,like any college romance, we drifted apart. We both wanted different things from life,Colorbar wanted my undivided attention and I wanted to explore more options.

Fast forward to 2012 I was hunting for some shades from MAC and the counter was out of stock of all the new launches, bored and disheartened I strolled over to the Colorbar counter thinking I would say Hello to some Velvet matte lipsticks.

And boom like a blast from the past-I felt like I just met an old flame,I re-discovered all the great things that made me fall in love with Colorbar the first time.

Great quality, great shades and awesome prices!

Here's what I snagged- Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Brick-o-la 42M A medium reddish pink with  brown undertones, in the tube it looks more berry brown but the shade looks more pink on the lips.

 This matte lipstick has a great velvety texture.The lipstick goes on smooth and is non drying. The smell is of faint berry vanilla and fades after 4-5 mins on the lips.

Maybelline colorsensational lipstick My Mahogany

'My Mahogany' lipstick from Maybelline colorsensational range has become a cult classic in the MLBB  (My lips but better) category.The shade is a perfect Nude if you are looking for just a hint of natural color. A great shade to teem with smokey eyes or for everyday natural look.

Revlon Super lustrous shiny sheers lipstick Rich Raisin

Like Good Girls always seem to fall for Mr. Wrong. I seem to have penchant for falling in love with products which are about to get discontinued!!

Revlon Super lustrous shiny sheers lipstick Rich Raisin was one of the chance encounter with a gorgeous lipstick which sadly appears to be discontinued by Revlon.

MAC lipsticks with their yummy Vanilla scent are now officially my new favorite lippies.To take a break from the usual suspects of pinks & berry toned lippies I wanted to try a fresh shade for everyday.

Here comes MAC Viva Glam VI lipstick, actually this was not the shade I'd have otherwise paid any attention to- I was busy checking out Lustering /Craving /Amourous and Capricious on my lips and I had made up my mind about Capricious.I tried Viva Glam VI on a lark. The moment I tried it on my lips I was totally in love.

Faces Moisture rich lipstick First Lady review and lip swatches

When you hear First Lady- what comes to your mind? Well the first image that pop in my head are that of a stiff, prim & proper sophisticate lady with understated elegance. But guess what even First Ladies can be a whole lot fun-don't believe me then take one look at Faces Moisture rich lipstick in First Lady.

Faces lipsticks have been making waves in Indian market for a while now, somehow I had steered clear of these. No I'm not a brand snob, I'm just weary of lipsticks which look pretty but smell of overpowering fragrance or waxes..so I never even bothered to try these out.

Don't snigger when I tell you, when I go lipstick shopping before swatching the shade I smell it!! (yes I've received plenty of weird looks from the Makeup SAs) but sorry can't help it, if it doesn't smell good it won't make it to my lips!

So when I actually tried out Faces Moisture rich lipsticks I was pleasantly surprised, it has very faint sweet cocoa kind of smell, followed by one beautiful swatch and I was sold!

The packaging of these lipsticks is really nice, yes the big tube can be a tad bulky but I love the shade swatch at the base

The lipstick swatch visible at the base of the tube is such a blessing- it helps in finding the right shade in a jiffy. (By the way the stuff you see frozen in the clear plastic base isn't real lipstick!!)
