Glamour doll eyes-Eyeshadow Haul!

I'm into eye makeup and I also love colorful shades which lets be honest barring MACs & Inglots are scarcely to be seen in Indian brands.
I want a good variety of shades, good pigmentation and quality and obviously pocket friendly prices. Not many shadows lived up to my exacting standards. So for the second time I decided to haul a bunch of shadows from Glamour Doll eyeshadows. After all a Girls's gotta shop! I love the high fun quotient of GDE eyeshadows. I had bought 8-9 shades last time and ended up using so many of those in my Project 101 Eye makeup look.

Glamour Doll Eyes is owned by Vaness Barney a.k.a. Vee, who runs a One woman show-she mixes the eyeshadows, gives them quirky names, packages them, handles shipping and what not all by herself! Whew!
GDE has a dazzling array of eyeshadow shades and the pigmentation is intense, all the shades also have very fun & quirky names.A lot of shadows are created and named in collaboration with otherInternet Beauty Gurus a.k.a Vbloggers and bloggers as well.
In fact the cute brand logo you see was created by one of GDE customer and was selected by users as a result of a user poll.

I hauled a whole bunch of eyeshadow sample jars and some sample baggies, plus I got 2 free sample baggies, i all I think I hauled some 24-25 shades!! I bought a mix of permanent eyeshadows, some special edition eyeshadows from' The Twi-shadows collection' and Eye lights.
The Twi shadows is actually a Twilight inspired eyeshadow collection and has shades inspired by all the characters of the Cullen Family & of course Bella-Guess what is Bella's shade called? "Just Bitten"

Glamour Doll eyeshadows has recently released their Blogger collection- 12 eyeshadow shades inspired by Internet Beauty Gurus.I'm already eying all some of the shades from the collection :P

Each eyeshadow sample jar is individually sealed with shrink wrap. Also each shade clearly specifies whether its Vegan or not and also whether it is safe for use on Lips or not.
The full sized jars of these shadows are priced at $ 6 & sample sized jars cost $ 2.5 &  sample baggie cost $ 1.25 a piece.
They offer Free international shipping on orders above $40, so you can club your order with friends and avail free international shipping as well.

You can check out eyeshadow swatches on skin at Glamour Doll eyes site itself which honestly makes Online shopping a breeze.

The glittery shadows that you see in the pics below are called eye lights and are ultra fine glitter and are soft like pigments. These will be great for some colorful ultra glam looks :D
That holographic silvery glitter you see in this pic is called 'Hollywood' Oh Boy I'm just itching to use it in an EOTD!

And now for one of the Product sampling policies I have come across

If you purchase a sample and you decided that you want to go ahead and get the full size jar, GDE will take the price of the sample off the price of the full jar. Please email Glamour Doll Eyes before placing your order so they can make you a coupon code!

What this post means is that my Project 101 Eye Makeup looks which had been put in cold storage for a while will be out and you can expect to see some interesting & definitely colorful eye makeup looks soon :)

Eye makeup look of the day- 'Drunk & Bruised'

I know the melodramatic post title would have left you wondering if I've turned in to a victim of domestic abuse or joining up 'Alcoholics Anonymous'. Absolutely not I'm not heading in Ms. Lohan's way.

This amazing eyeshadow from Glamor Doll Eye called ' Bruised' has been sitting on my vanity for ages & begging for my attention. So to do justice to it I wanted to create a Blue-n-Black EOTD. I decided to couple a shimmery black shadow from Deborah eyeshadow trio with  Bruised which is a purple based eyeshadow with turquoise and aqua green reflects

Here's how the 'Drunk & Bruised' look turned out.

Products Used-

Revlon eyeliner pencil-Black used on upper & lower lashline
Deborah Milano Trio High Tech Eyeshadow- Black Dahlia- glittery black color used all over eyelid
Glamor Doll Eyeshadow Bruised- Used on lower lash line and inner corner

Pink & Purple eye makeup look

This 'Pink & Purple' eye makeup look was inspired by a eye shadow called 'Royal Assassin' from Glamour doll eyes
Its a gorgeous aubergine shade with gold and multicolored reflects, its a very unique shade and I wanted to team it up with a shimmery pink frost shadow. The glitter reflects in Royal Assasin are not clearly visible in the nighttime pics, but the effect it creates is simply stunning.

I've tried a slight twist on the regular winged eye liner, the liner is used heavily on the lower lash line and wings upwards at the outer corner.Instead of traditional black eyeliner I've used Royal Assassin mixed with Inglot Duraline to create a dark purple liner

This the 10th look in my 'Project 101 Eye makeup looks', I have some very interesting eye makeup looks coming up so stay tuned!

This look is an acquired taste, so if it doesn't catch your fancy, fret not. A word of caution- Do not try this on a busy day (no seriously! Its a test of patience as much it is of skill!)

AVRIL LAVIGNE (SMILE) EYE MAKEUP LOOK

Its the middle of the week and the excruciating countdown to the weekend is on...bored to my back tooth.I looked around for some totally un-productive work (apart from listening to the Chipmunk's version of Kolaveri Di),then I chanced upon Tanveer's post on Avril Lavigne (Smile) Makeup (at Addicted to blush)
After watching Avril's Goth chick rocker turned pop star video, I thought hmmmm... how about doing some Celeb inspired eye makeup look?

So this is what my take on Avril's eye makeup look turned out.

EMMA WATSON'S HARRY POTTER NYC PREMIER EYE MAKEUP LOOK

Emma Watson wore the dark glam super smoky eyes with gold foil flecks at Harry Potter and the deathly hallows NYC Premier. The edgy and dramatic look became an instant sensation with makeup lovers the world over.So here's my interpretation of this look which really is the mother of all smoky eyes.

Here's Emma eye makeup for the event.
Here's my take on the look. I didn't have gold leaf at my disposal so I've used gold pigment mixed with mixing medium instead. The result isn't as dramatic as Emma's but I think it works well.

Products Used

Black matte shadow-Lakme Eye quartet-Moondust
Maybelline colossal mascara
Revlon black kohl pencil
Inglot Duraline (Mixing medium)

EYES OF THE DAY- SHADED ORCHID AND ROYAL ASSASSIN

Hey everyone, I'd been planning to do some eye looks with Glamour doll eyeshadow (GDE) sample baggies and finally my plans fructify. I've done a purple themed eyes in this look and I decided to use GDE shaded Orchid and Royal Assassin.

Here's a quick break down of the look

Primer-Use any you have at hand
For inner corner & highlighting-Deborah Milano Eyeshadow trio-Black Dalia (Else any shimmery white highlighter will do)
Maybelline Volume Colossal Mascara
Cellophane tape- To give precise winged look

Start by priming your eyes and concealing any dark circles under your eyes. Then take a small strip of cellphane tape and remove its stickiness (adhesion) by patting it on the back of you hand,so it doesn;t tug the delicate skin around your eyes.

Start with inner corner of your eyes and apply a shimmery white eyeshadow and gradually spread it to the eyelids (make sure its still in the inner corners & not on the entire eyelid). The using another clean brush apply Shaded Orchid on the center of your eyelids gradually extending to the outer corners. Apply the eyeshadow is patting motion, so the fall out is minimum.

Use another brush pick up GDE Royal Assassin & starting from the outer corners apply it by using a defining cut crease motion (do not make this very harsh else it will look OTT), gradually blend both the shades, using a slightly wet brush apply Shaded Orchid as an eyeliner (leaving out the inner corner area).

Apply GDE Shaded Orchid on the lower lash line (leaving out the inner corner), use Mayelline Eyestudio purple liner to line outer corner of the lower lash line.
Use an eyelash curler followed by Mascara.I used Maybelline Colossal Mascara. And Ta da- you are done. Enjoy your purple eye look.

These snaps were clicked in-doors, in the night with flash, so true vibrancy of the shades is not coming out. This is a dramatic purple look so avoid wearing this during daytime. be careful while applying Royal Assassin on the crease, too harsh a line will give drag-queen effect!

Hope you enjoyed this, if you have tried out this look, do tell me how it worked out for you.
XOXO
