5 QUICK STEPS TO CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

Makeup brushes are the most crucial beauty tools used everyday by us, but often we don't give them the pampering they deserve. So here are 5 quick tips to give your makeup brushes quick gentle cleaning to keep them soft & make them last longer.
If you are regular makeup use then you should try & give your brushes their weekly washes.

So lets get started- here's what you need to clean your makeup brushes

1. Gentle shampoo / baby shampoo
2. Lukewarm water
3. Wash basin / sink
4. Small mug / glass
5. Absorbent towel/paper towel

1.Take a glass /mug and fill up about 1 inch depth of lukewarm water, add 1 tsp /few squirts of gentle shampoo & soak the brushes. The bristles of your brush should be completely soaked, but water should not reach the ferrule.

IMPORTANT NOTE-The brush ferrule is the metallic part of your brush which grasps the bristles and binds it to the handle. This portion is glued to the handle. Do not let this get soaked with water at any cost. The glue can loosen up and your brush can break apart from the handle.

2.Soak the brushes for 15-20 mins, take them out one by one and start with the densest brushes as they usually accumulate most product /oil & dirt. (Do this step in the wash basin/ sink area) On the palm of your hand put few drops of shampoo and rub the brush bristles against your palm. You'll see the product built up wash away gradually from the bristles, do this step 2-3 times till the bristles appear thoroughly cleaned
(Note the makeup residue can stain the wash basin ceramic, preferably do brush cleaning on steel sink)

3.Once you have rinsed your brush, pat dry gently on the towel.Lay it down flat on the towel/ paper towel to dry completely.Try and give shape to the bristles, while draining excess water. Do not put the brushes in brush holder to dry as water will trickle down to ferrule and loosen up the glue & damage your brush.

4.If you have BrushGuard (visit www.brushguard.com) then use it to ensure the bristles retain their shape while drying. You can also buy Brushguard from www.buyincoins.com

5.Let your brushes dry completely before using them. Drying time will vary depending on the density of bristles.Your brushes are now clean, soft & fluffy and ready for use.

120 EYESHADOW PALETTE REVIEW

Hey everyone, I finally received my much awaited 120 Eyeshadow palette. I'd ordered this through www.buyincoins.com and the package arrived in precisely 20 days.

120 eyeshadow palette has been a staple of beauty youtubers for eons and I'd been planning to buy this one for over 6 months.I loved the whole bunch of vibrant colors in this palette but was skeptical if this will be of much use to me so I had bought 88 metal mania palette instead which had a more wearable shade selection.

However, my heart was set on the 120 eyeshadow palette and when I checked out www.buyincoins.com I was pleasantly surprised to see no shipping charges to India and I placed my order in a jiffy & Boy am I glad!?

For starters the casing of the palette is a sturdy matte black which I quite like, the palette opens up and has two stacked trays of 60 eyeshadows each, the size of now extinct 25 paisa coin.

Three eyeshadows were broken in the palette during shipping-a black, metallic gold and a shimmery mustard yellow.Thankfully these did not smear the other shades much and could be cleaned easily. I pressed the 2 broken yellow shadows back in tot he pan, but these wouldn't travel well & will have permanent residence on my dresser.

The palette has a fabulous color selection and has matte & shimmery and satin texture. I personally found the shimmery shades highly pigmented & vibrant. These are great for a makeup newbie & a pro alike as you dont need to invest in individual pans for shades which you might use on regular basis (riotous fuschia, brilliant yellow, parrot green... you get the idea..)

Another interesting thing about this palette is it has 6 marbleized eyeshadows in a row, the shimmery blues amongst these are gorgeous, the matte ones not so.

All in all ,I'm very happy with the palette and at $ 12.6/- (Approx INR 570/-) for 120 shades its a steal any which way you do the math.

I'll be posting the swatches in next post 'coz this post becoming very pic heavy.

Ciao :)
