A little beauty haul to kickstart the holiday season!

So I've been MIA from blogosphere for ages ...With a killer work schedule I haven't had a breather in months...but today after aeons I decided to finally dip my toes and test the waters of beauty blogging ;)
I've been hopping around like a happy bunny today, it was a day full of pampering for me. A day at spa and a new hairdo later, it was time for some shopping and apart from the usual suspects of some new clothes and shoes I indulged in a bit of makeup :)

Eye makeup look of the day- 'Drunk & Bruised'

I know the melodramatic post title would have left you wondering if I've turned in to a victim of domestic abuse or joining up 'Alcoholics Anonymous'. Absolutely not I'm not heading in Ms. Lohan's way.

This amazing eyeshadow from Glamor Doll Eye called ' Bruised' has been sitting on my vanity for ages & begging for my attention. So to do justice to it I wanted to create a Blue-n-Black EOTD. I decided to couple a shimmery black shadow from Deborah eyeshadow trio with  Bruised which is a purple based eyeshadow with turquoise and aqua green reflects

Here's how the 'Drunk & Bruised' look turned out.

Products Used-

Revlon eyeliner pencil-Black used on upper & lower lashline
Deborah Milano Trio High Tech Eyeshadow- Black Dahlia- glittery black color used all over eyelid
Glamor Doll Eyeshadow Bruised- Used on lower lash line and inner corner
Maybelline Colossal Mascara
QVS Lash glue
Oriflame eyelash curler

Hope you enjoyed the look- leave a comment behind & share your thoughts :)

DEBORAH AGE RESET ANTI AGE FOUNDATION

Till MAC came to India with its jaw dropping selection of foundations for different skin tones, skin types & purposes, us lesser mortals in India had to contend with 4-5 shades of foundations from every beauty brand.

So after having wasted  tons of money buying foundations, tested in stores under super bright store lights which later either turned ashen/looked oily/super matte/ streaky/darker/lighter on me after a few hours of wear (you know the whole foundation spiel) ...I was super fed up with foundations in general..so on my last visit to Deborah counter after shopping for some eyeshadow I asked for the SA to swatch some foundation on me. She applied Deborah Age Rest foundation in shade no. 03 Apricot on me.

So did I find my foundation holy grail ? Read on to find out more

EYES OF THE DAY- SHADED ORCHID AND ROYAL ASSASSIN

Hey everyone, I'd been planning to do some eye looks with Glamour doll eyeshadow (GDE) sample baggies and finally my plans fructify. I've done a purple themed eyes in this look and I decided to use GDE shaded Orchid and Royal Assassin.

Here's a quick break down of the look

Primer-Use any you have at hand
For inner corner & highlighting-Deborah Milano Eyeshadow trio-Black Dalia (Else any shimmery white highlighter will do)
Maybelline Volume Colossal Mascara
Cellophane tape- To give precise winged look

Start by priming your eyes and concealing any dark circles under your eyes. Then take a small strip of cellphane tape and remove its stickiness (adhesion) by patting it on the back of you hand,so it doesn;t tug the delicate skin around your eyes.

Start with inner corner of your eyes and apply a shimmery white eyeshadow and gradually spread it to the eyelids (make sure its still in the inner corners & not on the entire eyelid). The using another clean brush apply Shaded Orchid on the center of your eyelids gradually extending to the outer corners. Apply the eyeshadow is patting motion, so the fall out is minimum.

Use another brush pick up GDE Royal Assassin & starting from the outer corners apply it by using a defining cut crease motion (do not make this very harsh else it will look OTT), gradually blend both the shades, using a slightly wet brush apply Shaded Orchid as an eyeliner (leaving out the inner corner area).

Apply GDE Shaded Orchid on the lower lash line (leaving out the inner corner), use Mayelline Eyestudio purple liner to line outer corner of the lower lash line.
Use an eyelash curler followed by Mascara.I used Maybelline Colossal Mascara. And Ta da- you are done. Enjoy your purple eye look.

These snaps were clicked in-doors, in the night with flash, so true vibrancy of the shades is not coming out. This is a dramatic purple look so avoid wearing this during daytime. be careful while applying Royal Assassin on the crease, too harsh a line will give drag-queen effect!

Hope you enjoyed this, if you have tried out this look, do tell me how it worked out for you.
XOXO

DEBORAH MILANO TRIO HI TECH EYESHADOW-BLACK DAHLIA

On my latest shopping expedition  picked up Deborah Milano trio hi-tech eyeshadow in shade no. 13 called Black Dahlia.

Deborah Milano is an Italian cosmetics brand, in India I have seen it being retailed in Debenhams & Reliance Trend outlets in Gurgaon.i'm not sure about their availability in other cities.

There are 8 trio in this range and each trio as perfectly coordinated ultra- iridescent eyeshadows for a very stylish & sophisticated look. These can be used wet or dry & are hypoallergenic.

I'd been planning to order Wet n Wild 8 pan color icon eyeshadow palette called 'Blue had me at hello' 'coz i wanted a blue black high iridescent eyeshadow. When I checked out 'Blue Dahlia' at Deborah counter I simply had to have it! I swatched the eyeshadow and boy it was super duper pigmented and I was absolutely floored. This is not the kind of pigmentation you expect in a mid-segment brand.
The packaging is fairly decent ,the palette is the size of a compact, though the applicator isn't anything to write home about.
At INR 495 these are a great buy.In fact I found a champagne & pink trio which looked pretty irrestible. I'm snagging that on my next shopping spree.Do check out the swatches below & let me know what you think.
XOXO
