MAC Dark Diversion, pulls you out of your comfort zone of black gel eyeliner and beckons you over to the dark side.

Use it with an angled liner brush to create the perfect plummy brown eyeliner.its dark enough to show up well on dusky skintones.Else it doubles up as an excellent eyeshadow base.
A trick I picked from Sonic Sarwate,Senior Makeup Artist MAC India-Dark diversion when used with MAC 217 Brush / a domed blending brush and swiped over the lids creates a wash of color which serves as a great long lasting base for your eyeshadows.

MAC Heirloom Kohl pencil-Review,dupe and eye makeup look

MAC Heirloom Kohl pencil was released with  the M.A.C. Reel Sexy Limited edition collection and is described by MAC as a highly metallized greyed lavender.
Unlike the usual silver pencil which tend to have grey undertones this one has a hint of lavender and it works very well as an eye brightener.

When I received this pencil for review,initially I wondered if it will work on my eyes and skin tone.I payed with it  for a while,and when I tried using it for some eye makeup looks, I found this pretty useful.

It works beautifully to accentuate the eyes when used on inner corner, you can use this as an all over lid color and also apply a light swipe of it close to lashline and blend it to create a light wash of color on the lids.I feel it doesn't work quite as well as a liner on my lower lashline, the creamier kohl texture+my watery eyes= fast disappearing kohl!

A little haul-Maybelline 24 Hour color tattoo & L'oreal Infalliable eyeshadow

So I did a tiny lil haul (i'd rather not say how much I hauled in past few weeks *hides credit card statement*) I picked out Bold Gold shade form Maybelline Color Tattoo range range and got a freebie eyeshadow brush along with it (which the SA conveniently forgot to give me, till I pestered him *bad boy*)

I also finally caved in and bought L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow in All night blue, that blue had been tempting me for ages, I got back home to realize I already had an exact dupe in my Sleek eyeshadow palette of this shade :P *shhh...good thing my Hubby doesn't read my blog!*

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo swatches

 Indian blogsophere has been buzzing ever since the Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo eyeshadows and Baby Lips lip balms have been launched.

With seductive promises of MAC Paintpot like quality at quarter of the price and a good shade selection these color tattoos are tempting every beautista out there! Well I swatched these out 3 times in past 10 day (yes I know it makes me sound unemployed, but trust me I'm not ).I was eagerly awaiting launch of the color tattoos but I wanted to be absolutely sure before picking these up.

Okay lets cut to the chase- Are these MAC Paint pot dupes?- Yes & No, they have the same cream based texture, which can be used alone as an eyeshadow or used as a base to layer the powder shadows on top.
They quickly dry and set to a smudge proof,water proof & transfer resist finish.They lasted for 16 hours on my hand swatch, The wear time is longer than MAC paint pot. Even after 16 hours I had to use cleansing wipe with makeup remover to get it completely off my skin.
Some shades are sheerer than the rest, the glittery shades do kind of make it difficult to blend powder shadows on top of these.The MAC paintpots are more creamier and smoother and blend more easily.

Are these worth buying? Oh Yeah! considering quality cream eyeshadows are as rare as finding Fairies & Unicorns, these ones are totally worth buying at  Rs 350/- bucks you are getting a very good cream shadow and it works well as a base too.

Too Cool & Tough as Taupe both these shades have been excluded from the India launch.Another gorgeous cranberry shade called Pomegranate punk was MIA as it was out of stock,so haven't been able to swatch it for you girls here.

MAC constructivist Paint pot review,swatch and a dupe

I'm a cream eyeshadow lover I love how easy it is to apply them on the go and 'coz MAC paintpots are the perfect Cream eyeshadows,these get lot of loving from me.

MAC describes Paintpots as "A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish.Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weigh or caking.Blends smoothly over the lids.Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners"

MAC Constructivist paintpot is a rich dark chocolate brown pearl with a beautiful sheen.This is a great shade for creating chic neutral looks. The medium & duskier skinned beauties would love this more than their paler sisters.

True to its claim it has a wear time of over 10 hours on my oily lids,unlike other creme based eyeshadow it doesn't crease on my lids..It can be used alone as an all over wash of  color or can be applied underneath other powder eyeshadows as well to add dimension to the look.

The paintpots dry pretty quickly and you need to work quickly on blending. Personally I prefer using my ring finger to dab and blend my paintpots.You can use a flat concealer brush for applying and blending your paint pots, don't use your regular powder eyeshadow brushes with paintpot else they might have massive product build up and not work very well with your powder eyeshadow.

Constructivist has a beautiful sheen and it elevates it from boring brown to a rich deep pearlescent chocolate shade.

It is great for everyday office wear & I love just seeping this on my lids and adding 2 coats of mascara and I'm good to go!

However if you are plagued with raccoon eyes and couldn't be bothered with concealer in the morning then be careful of constructivist it might make your eyes more deep set and fatigued.

MAC paintpots retail for $17.5 in US / India Rs 1300/- for 5 gram jar. The quantity is pretty good however unless you are using the shade everyday you might find that your paintpots are drying out before you make much of the dent in the pot. So if you find forking out 1300 bucks a bit much for a single cream eyeshadow then you can try buying a sample sized jar from www.thebodyneeds2.com or split it with your friends 'coz it really will last you a long long time.

Overall Recommendation-MAC constucitivist will work well under darker shadows to add a nuanced dimension to your eye makeup, but don't expect it to replace a eyeshadow primer.The shade is great for creating neutral looks and is a great addition to your vanity. It is specially helpful for beauty beginners,working women and neutral look lovers.I would recommend it!

Lemming for Urban Decay Primer Potion? Have you spent sleepless nights dreaming about Too Faced eyeshadow insurance? Soul sisters you are not alone, I too have spent nights endlessly tossing & turning hoping Sephora would open shop in India soon (which hopefully should happen by end of year!)
