I wanted to give my eyes some downtime from the transfer resistant waterproof kohl.I wanted a herbal kajal which I could use on my water line and to tight line which contained sweet almond oil to soothe eyes and boost lash growth. My search took me to Biotique Kajal.
What Biotique claims about the Bio Kajal-
"This soothing eye liner is made in the traditional Ayurvedic manner, blended with pure sesame oil, sweet almond oil and extracts of eclipta alba, Indian gooseberry and berberis aristata. Nourishes the eye, area and leaves eyes sparkling. Also promotes eyelash growth."
The kajal is organically pure and preservative free, Dermatologist tested for safety (shouldn't be Ophthalmologist tested??) The product is not tested on animals. "This is not a cosmetic product, it has therapeutic properties"
How to apply-Apply a light line to the inner rims of the eyes, from inner to outer corners, for a soft smoky look. Darken line and smudge for a smoky look.
As per the company website- Johnny Depp is a huge fan of the Biotique Kajal, well that explains the smoky Jack Sparrow look.
The Packaging- The kajal comes in a black opaque bullet with a conical pointy tip. The soft creamy product texture means the kajal bullet doesn't hold firmly in the tube. The conical shape of the kajal makes it impractical, as with usage the pointy tip wanes off and the stubby base wood not allow precise application.
The Ingredients-
The swatch- Its smooth and creamy, glides on easily. The kajal has nice glossiness and is well pigmented. Its priced at INR 109 for 3 grams.
Here comes the moment of truth- The Kajal is extremely smudgy, I mean within 2 mins on my eyes and I turn in to a raccoon. Its glides off the waterline and smudges under the eye and accentuates the dark circles pretty badly.
Overall Thoughts- The kajal doesn't claim to be a cosmetic and yes it does soothe my eye.I like its herbal properties but ts smudgy like crazy and I don't think its practical to use it on a daily basis.I wont be re-purchasing this.
That's an interesting fact that I didn't know. Johnny Depp uses it, wow!!!!
