120 EYESHADOW PALETTE SWATCHES

Hey everyone, as promised here are some of the swatches from my new 120 eyeshadow palette. These have been swatched without any primer or the base. Most of these are super pigmented and the shimmer transfers beautifully on to the eyelids, a few matte pink & fuchsia shades are less on pigmentation. Anyways enough of words, time for some swatches  :)

The greens & blues

mauve ,purple & prunes

 Pinks & berry tones

The marbleized shadows are swatched here

 Yellows & golds

120 EYESHADOW PALETTE REVIEW

Hey everyone, I finally received my much awaited 120 Eyeshadow palette. I'd ordered this through www.buyincoins.com and the package arrived in precisely 20 days.

120 eyeshadow palette has been a staple of beauty youtubers for eons and I'd been planning to buy this one for over 6 months.I loved the whole bunch of vibrant colors in this palette but was skeptical if this will be of much use to me so I had bought 88 metal mania palette instead which had a more wearable shade selection.

However, my heart was set on the 120 eyeshadow palette and when I checked out www.buyincoins.com I was pleasantly surprised to see no shipping charges to India and I placed my order in a jiffy & Boy am I glad!?

For starters the casing of the palette is a sturdy matte black which I quite like, the palette opens up and has two stacked trays of 60 eyeshadows each, the size of now extinct 25 paisa coin.

Three eyeshadows were broken in the palette during shipping-a black, metallic gold and a shimmery mustard yellow.Thankfully these did not smear the other shades much and could be cleaned easily. I pressed the 2 broken yellow shadows back in tot he pan, but these wouldn't travel well & will have permanent residence on my dresser.

The palette has a fabulous color selection and has matte & shimmery and satin texture. I personally found the shimmery shades highly pigmented & vibrant. These are great for a makeup newbie & a pro alike as you dont need to invest in individual pans for shades which you might use on regular basis (riotous fuschia, brilliant yellow, parrot green... you get the idea..)

Another interesting thing about this palette is it has 6 marbleized eyeshadows in a row, the shimmery blues amongst these are gorgeous, the matte ones not so.

All in all ,I'm very happy with the palette and at $ 12.6/- (Approx INR 570/-) for 120 shades its a steal any which way you do the math.

I'll be posting the swatches in next post 'coz this post becoming very pic heavy.

Ciao :)

HAIRSTYLE-HOW TO DO A SNAKE BRAID

I just wanted to do a quick post about a very fun & simple way to add some pizazz to your hair in this summer season.

The Snake braid is unique in the sense that the it resembles a snake in S shape. This is quite an eye catching hairstyle, so try & do it in a smaller section of your hair, preferably on the side and you can tie your hair in a ponytail or a loose knot at the nape.

How to do this braid- Gather a small section of hair on the top or the side of your head, comb it to remove any tangles, divide the hair into 3 parts and braid, as you would make any regular braid.

Once you finish braiding, you'll be left with ends of the three sections you started with. hold one of these sections in your one hand and the other 2 sections in the other hand.
Move the middle section up& push it all the way to the top of your head (where you started the braid), by now your braid will look scruched up.

Gently ease out your braid and voila a slithering snake like S shape will emerge. Just secure it with elastic band /bobby pin and you can let it be or secure it in a knot or pony tail for more finished look.

P.S.-Excuse the photograph quality, I just learned d hard way that trying to click your own head /hair is tricky business. lol :D

IS KATE'S WEDDING GOWN AN HOMAGE TO PRINCESS GRACE'S?

We've all been gushing over the Royal Wedding and the newly anointed HRH Duchess of Cambridge-Catherine's wedding gown has become an overnight sensation.
A beautiful mix of tradition & modernity Kate's wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton a protege` of Alexander Mc Queen seems to pay an homage to Princess Grace of Monaco's wedding dress designed by Helen Rose.

Kate Middleton & Grace Kellly both commoners went on to marry their respective Prince Charming in fairy tale weddings. Grace Kelly an established Hollywood star married Rainier III, Prince of Monaco in 1956. Her wedding gown was a gift from the MGM studio and was designed by Helen Rose from their wardrobe department. The dress included rose point lace over silk faille and silk tulle, with seed pearls.

The intricate lace applique` bodice & sleeves of Kate's gown mirror those on the gown of Grace Kelly who became Princess Grace of Monaco after her marriage.

To add to the similarities, both the gowns share a high-waisted,full skirted silhouette. Both the gowns have long & dramatic train, accompanied by sheer veils with intricate embroidery ,diamond tiaras and exact small yet elegant bouquets.

Both ladies looked elegance personified on their 'D' day. It appears Sarah Burton indeed paid an homage of sorts to Helen Rose's iconic & timeless classic dress.
It just shows how classic can be contemporary!
