Hi Girls! I thought I'll introduce you all to my latest lip color crush-L’oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color and Rouge Caresse Lipsticks.
L’oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks
L’oreal Paris scored big time with the uber chic packaging of Shine Caresse Lip colors, these pretty lip colors come with elegant gold packaging with a transparent band that shows the color swatch and a very pretty heart shaped applicator wand. The packaging makes this pretty gloss look a whole lot pricier than it is.
The shine caresse lip colors are a cross between lip stain and lip gloss, the texture is slick, watery and non-sticky. These lip colors are very sheer in the first swipe but gradually it stains the lip with a deeper hue . The watery sheer glossy lip stain stays fresh for about 4 hours on my lips and its light weightless texture makes me forget that I’ve got any lippie on.
The L’oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color has a chemically sweet scent, when I checked out the testers in store I was put off by the overpowering smell, however the fresh tubes have a much fainter smell and once applied on lips the smell fades away very quickly.
I got two shades in my stash-Bella and Juliette. I totally dig the romantic names.Bella is a pretty peachy pink shade and Juliette is a beautiful warm red. I initially though Bella would look too pale on my dusky (NC 45) complexion, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how flattering it looks on me. It’s a great my lips but better (MLBB) shade for duskier gals. It’s a great universal color that would look great on.
Juliette is a gorgeous sheer red, it gives the perfect just bitten look and is great red shade for girls who want to wear red lippies without being overwhelmed by OTT red.
The L’oreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Colors are priced at INR 499/- apiece, you can also snag these online for much less. These are some of the best lip product launches of Spring Summer ’14, so hop, skip, jump to nearest L’oreal counter to snag some of these babies.
L’oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks
The Rouge Caresse Lipsticks are the newest launch by L’oreal in India, available in 10 gorgeous shades from nude to deep browns. Unlike the Shine caresse lip gloss’s gold packaging L’oreal decided to go with silver and clear plastic packaging.
Three shades that I got from these collection are Hypnotic red (No. 403)m Mauve Cherie (No. 102) and Impulsive Fuchsia (No. 202)
Hypnotic red is a warm terracotta red with a hint of brown plumy undertones, this shade is great for girls with pigmented lips as it shows up well and gives a nice defined look to the lips.
Impulsive Fuchsia is a hot bright fuchsia with blue undertones. Single swipe of this lippie gives a very faint hint of orchid tone, however with 3-4 swipes it can be built up slightly.
Mauve Cherie is a neutral mauvey nude shade, which will work best for fair to medium complexions, this shades washes me out and is not very flattering on my dusky complexion.
Texture wise these compare well with Revlon Colorburst lip butter, as they have the same balmy texture and very sheer finish. If you have pigmented lips then you might need to stick with the deeper shades from this collection for the shades to show up well, the lighter shades are very sheer and won’t show up too well on pigmented lips.
I get around 2 hours of wear time from these lippies with barely any residual lip stain. Priced at INR 499/- for 2.5 grams these are wonderful little summer indulgence and great addition to any lipstick stash. Go for it if glossy sheer lips are your thing.
