Now I couldn't really wait forever for the makeup Gods (or Goddesses) to have mercy on me & launch some good eyeshadow primer in India,I decided to take matters in my own hands.Here comes online shopping & international shipping to my rescue.Now instead of spending a fortune on UDPP I decided to try my trusty NYX & ordered NYX HD eyeshadow base. And O-M-G am I thrilled that I did?!!

What NYX Claims about its HD eyeshadow base-

Prep your eyelids with this lightweight eye makeup primer that evens skin tone, smooths lines and ensures lasting makeup application. The High Definition Eye Shadow Base alleviates creases and pumps up the vibrancy of your eye shadow.

The base does even out the skin tone, but doesn't do anything to smooth out fine lines (that I'd think is the job of under eye cream,expecting this primer to multitask ain't actually fair).It does boost the vibrancy of the shadows and makes them last longer

The Ingredients-

NYX HD Eyeshadow base is Cruelty Free and lasts for 9 Months after opening.Each tube contains 8 grams of product & costs $ 7.

The doe foot applicator makes precise application of the base very easy, the packaging is very hygienic and functional.

Coastal Scents Eyeshadow brushes and eyeshadow haul!!

Coastal scents had always intrigued me with their range of pocket friendly makeup items. I had been lemming for some good quality eyeshadow brushes on a budget (the ones that didn't expect me to sell off  one of my kidneys to buy a makeup brush kind of price range!) 

I had heard mixed reviews about their makeup brush quality and I wasn't entirely sure of placing an order.Around New Year's time Coastal scents had 20% Off on their makeup brushes and after contemplating over whether to order or not for over 3 months I finally took the plunge!!

Princess Jasmine inspired Arabic Eye makeup look

Hey Sweetpeas! I'm just so super thrilled to be finally be well enough & catch up with all you guys! I missed you all, I missed my blog & I missed reading all the amazing posts so many of my favorite blogger friends had put up.

  

So that today I finally got a chance to play with colors I decided to do a Princess Jasmine inspired Arabic eye makeup look.This is the 6th Look from my 'Project 101 Eye makeup looks'. To add some drama I added a veil and a turquoise necklace (worn as headdress). Sorry if it looks too cheesy! (yeah I was feeling shy putting these up, but then what the hell! Its you guys, I'm sure i can get away with a bit of theatrics! LOL)

 

 

MAC Eyeshadow dupes from INGLOT

Aloha Ladies! Guess who's back? C'est Moi!

Kejal wrote in to me asking for some Inglot eyeshadows that could be dupes for MAC.So this is what my internet research yielded. Now here's a disclaimer-I've been doped out with meds for so long that my senses are muddled,please cross check & authenticate these shades well before placing your orders.

Lippie reccos- sorry couldn't really figure out any exact MAC dupe,but four shades from the Freedom system refill pans are a definite must haves


Shade number-60 (muted berry pink shade)
Shade number-73 (a possible dupe for MAC Impassioned but not exact)
Shade number-86 (va va voom bright bordeaux shade)
Shade number-56 (neon pinky orange, totally wicked vivd shade!)


From the AMC Lip paint range I'd recommend shade number 61 (muted peachy coral) & 65 (deep berry shade)
Inglot slim gel lipstick- Shade number 53 (dusty rose pink) &  43 (bright coral)

My 10 New Year Makeup and Beauty Resolutions

New Year -its that time of the year when we make grandiose promises to ourselves and and plan to be at our best behavior through the year a.k.a. the New Year Resolutions.As a Beauty blogger, ordinary resolutions just wouldn't do for me! No Missy,they just won't,so here's a bunch of my Makeup & Beauty Resolutions for 2012 ;)

1.I'll start following a skin care routine- I've been lazy in the past, but now I want to pamper my skin-You know the know the whole, cleansing, toning, moisturizing,night cream and under eye cream bit.Plan to use face scrub and face pack on weekly basis,hot oil hair massage on weekly basis.

Success so far- Apart from usual washing my face with face wash,I've been using Kara cleansing wipe (with honey & almond) every night followed by Ponds Age miracle Overnight repair cream and Ponds Age miracle Dual eye therapie cream on my eye area.I can already see improvement in my skin texture in past 1 week. Look forward to weekend to catch up on rest of my planned beauty rituals ;)

2.Catch up on my Beauty Sleep-I'm a heavy sleeper & am just not into cat naps.Juggling work,home and a blog well its my forty winks which usually takes a beating. I've decided to make sure I get 8 hours of snooze time every night

Success so far-Not much,I'm still up beyond my bed time, been averaging around 6.5-7 hours of zzzzzz time. Have to work on this area.

3. Makeup shopping-I'll Buy what I need & what I will use.No more impulsive sale inspired shopping

Success so far-50-50! Have successfully fended off some online shopping urges, yet succumbed to a few amazing offers. I now make a wishlist and if I still want it after 1 month I go ahead and buy it, else its a No buy! 

4.I'll use the makeup that I have-Oh I can bet every beauty addict is guilty of hoarding makeup and never really hit pan on most of their makeup.This year I plan to use every single makeup item I have, so be ready to expect a lot of makeup looks!

Success so far- 'My project 101 Eye makeup looks'  was inspired by this resolution, I'm 3 looks down,98 more to go1 BTW I'm totally hitting pan on my MAC Sheerselect compact! Yay!

Leopard Eyes-Eye makeup look

Keeping up with my new year resolution of 'Project 101 Eye Makeup looks' here's the latest EOTD.

Girls-Ever wanted to unleash the feline in you? No I'm not talking about Garfield as makeup inspiration!! How about trying out this bold, adventurous and super wild- Leopard inspired Eye makeup look

This look is an acquired taste, so if it doesn't catch your fancy, fret not. For ages I wanted to try this uber chic (& mildly crazy look!).I didn't think I could pull it off, while its not perfect, I quite like it.[My hubby found the look scary! what fun!!-his expression was truly priceless!  LOL ;D ]

A word of caution- Do not try this on a busy day (no seriously! Its a test of patience as much it is of skill!)

88 Metal Mania Eyeshadow palette (Sheer gold & shimmery coral shade used on crease & highlight area,matte white to create spots)

120 Eyeshadow palette (Matte saffron shade used all over lid & dark brown to create spots)

Grey Purple and Blue Eye makeup look

Hello my cupcakes! So on with my 'PROJECT 101 Eye makeup looks' here's a funky twist to the Grey eyes with a hint of Blue & Purple.

The lid has been primed with a creamy grey shadow (I used a generic cream shadow), the inner eye corners and inner part of eyelids have been covered with muted silvery grey shadow and the lid has been covered with highly glittery grey-black shadow (I've used glittery black from 120 eyeshadow palette & Deborah Milano eye trio is Black Dahlia)

Hello my Beauties!We meet again in the brand new year! Hope you all partied hard and looked your smoking best on the New Year eve!

Sorry about the slow trickle of posts from my end,I've been basically hibernating.The near zero temperature coupled with grey skies, fog and believe it or not infrequent lashing of rains has turned me into a hibernating polar bear! The weather has been keeping  me off makeup (wearing & not shopping that is ;D) 

While I kept hoping the weather Gods would have some mercy & Give us some cheery sunshine,I kept putting off posting so many great New Year posts I had planned. So finally I decided to move my lazy bum & usher in 2012 with a Smokey Brown & Gold Eye Makeup Look.

I've decided to do Project 101 Eye makeup looks for 2012 so you can definitely expect more EOTDs from me :)
