A little beauty haul to kickstart the holiday season!

So I've been MIA from blogosphere for ages ...With a killer work schedule I haven't had a breather in months...but today after aeons I decided to finally dip my toes and test the waters of beauty blogging ;) 
I've been hopping around like a happy bunny today, it was a day full of pampering for me. A day at spa and a new hairdo later, it was time for some shopping and apart from the usual suspects of some new clothes and shoes I indulged in a bit of makeup :)

Sorry about being M.I.A past few months,I really had no internet access, being away from the virtual world for a net addict like me is the worst kind of detox. I turned cold turkey most of the time..
So when I couldn't blog,I shopped.. and I have pictures to prove it :D
 
I thought I'd share some pics of my May Makeup haul!
I snagged stuff from NYX, MUA,Lush,H2O,Fabinidia and some other random nail paints.Sorry I forgot to click the H2O body balms, I got kiwi and berry and those are pretty awesome for summer months.

 The high point of my haul was this NYX Black label lipstick in Midnight dinner,I'm officially a convert and am eying many more shades from this range.

Would you judge me if I told  you that  May'13 isn't officially over yet, I'm tempted to haul some more :P ;)

The Big Fat Makeup Haul l!!!

So one of my Legen...(wait for it) dary- New year resolution was to trim down on my makeup spending...Ermmm one look at the haul pics below and you'd know it was an epic fail.

When I spread out all my recent makeup hauls together I realized it was just too much of serious eye candy. I went clickety-click like a possessed paparazzi who just spotted Kate in a bikini!

At the sight of so much makeup,my possessed look and my frenetic photography my Hubby's eyes turned big as saucers! I hurriedly explained that some of this stuff was sent by companies for review while most of this stuff was bought by me for my friend who is getting married soon and there is loads of stuff I'm putting together for my would be Sis-in-law! Hubby eyed my loot suspiciously and said "Really?! :P


Now for the greater good of womankind I decided to post these pics, feast your peepers on these pretties and tell me what are you lemming for?

Picked this snazzy clutch from Lifestyle recently, though haven't used it yet..Ladies (and fashion forward Gentlemen) any ideas on what to pair this with?
I've been pleasantly surprised by Lakme`, its been steadily climbing its way back in my vanity. This Lakme` Absolute Bi phase makeup remover is pretty awesome.

The lippies! Some MAC, Colorbar,VOV & MUA.Most of these are gifts for family & friends.

Picked these VOV Moisture vogue lip glosses from New Beauty center (NBC) for a cute friend (yep you all know her but I'm not allowed to spill the beans ;)
These are super pretty and piggy bank friendly,no wonder these are almost always sold out at NBC

My Diwali Haul-Loads of makeup and some trinkets!

Diwali week, is the perfect excuse for makeup crazed women like me to shop, without a care...that is, until you see your credit card statement *booo that gives me jeepers creepers!*

I wasn't really planning to haul this much stuff, but well with the juicy sales & offers going on one thing led to another and I ended up hauling 4 new lippies a blush trio,a nail polish and a few trinkets..I also hauled tons of skincare and bath and body stuff... which well I'll review as and when I get time..for now lets just take a moment and ogle at the awesome super drool worthy colors here! I picked tons of corals, hot pinks,red and orange shades..

My Empties project made a major dent in my stash of lotions & potions and for once I was left scarcely any face cream,body lotions face wash,foot cream etc.I usually burn right through my fun money (read my makeup & toiletries budget) very quickly by splurging on makeup... (yes that is a separate expense head in my personal budget , which would exceed the GDP of a small nation :P) This time round barring my Sleek Haul,I decided to go easy on makeup and instead tank up on some much needed skin care ,body care & foot care stuff.

Yeah I know a face wash or night cream or a foot soak is hardly half as exciting as a juicy lip gloss or a bold lip color but then, to look good you need a good skin and ergo a whole bunch of potions. This time I decided to haul from Purplle.com and Flipkart.com.

Most of the stuff I ordered were repeat buys and I'd recommend these. Detailed product wise reviews coming right up.

From Purplle.com I hauled  Vaseline Cocoa body lotion, Shahnaz Hussain Shasilk Matte moisturizer, Shahnaz Hussain Beauty Balm,Himalaya Oil control lemon face wash & Nivea Oil regulating toner.
Purplle's services were good, though they didn't have one of my ordered item in stock, for which they issued me a store credit.Their customer services team was very prompt & courteous to both phone and email queries.
The delivery took 4 or 5 days which was a bit slow as per me.I used a 10% discount coupon from my Kotak credit card ,on my entire order.
Other thing is that they require minimum INR 499/- order size for availing free shipping. Which is fair from a business profitability point of view, it does keep me from ordering items on a whim...Hmmm.. what do you think about a minimum order quantity to be eligible for free shipping?

Foot care haul from Flipkart.com- Yes before playing footsie I do need a good pedi :D
Vedicline  Foot Soak,Vedicline nail & cuticle cream, Vedicline foot massage cream & Vega Nail file& cuticle remover.

This was my first time ordering Makeup & Beauty items from Flipkart.
Flipkart was extremely fast in their delivery, considering they had to deliver items locally within Delhi, they took under 24 hours to deliver my items,though a weird thing was that for the 4 items I had purchased they sent 4 different parcels to my place, each containing 1 item only. I mean one parcel came with a single nail file!!! Isn't that very unusual?
Overall I think I might be returning to Flipkart, I'm a restless soul and I want my goodies quickly!

Overall I'm very happy & very satisfied with my haul,now I'm heading off to give myself some TLC with my lotions. You Girls have a great day ahead :)

Look what just came in mail today!! Yay its my second installment of Sleek makeup haul :D

The last sleek Sale got me so light headed that one bout of shopping wasn't enough,I convinced myself that I wanted needed some more Sleek Goodies in my life!
I picked two pout polishes- Scandal-A gorgeous saucy red & Pink Cadillac a juicy fuchsia pink.

I also snagged a Hide It Concealer, why 'coz three's a company ;)

Glamour doll eyes-Eyeshadow Haul!

I'm into eye makeup and I also love colorful shades which lets be honest barring MACs & Inglots are scarcely to be seen in Indian brands.

I want a good variety of shades, good pigmentation and quality and obviously pocket friendly prices.Not many shadows lived up to my exacting standards.So for the second time I decided to haul a bunch of shadows from Glamour Doll eyeshadows.After all a Girls's gotta shop! I love the high fun quotient of GDE eyeshadows. I had bought 8-9 shades last time and ended up using so many of those in my Project 101 Eye makeup look.

Glamour Doll Eyes is owned by Vaness Barney a.k.a. Vee, who runs a One woman show-she mixes the eyeshadows,gives them quirky names,packages them, handles shipping and what not all by herself! Whew!

GDE has a dazzling array of eyeshadow shades and the pigmentation is intense, all the shades also have very fun & quirky names.A lot of shadows are created and named in collaboration with otherInternet Beauty Gurus a.k.a Vbloggers and bloggers as well.

In fact the cute brand logo you see was created by one of GDE customer and was selected by users as a result of a user poll.

I hauled a whole bunch of eyeshadow sample jars and some sample baggies,plus I got 2 free sample baggies, i all I think I hauled some 24-25 shades!! I bought a mix of permanent eyeshadows, some special edition eyeshadows from' The Twi-shadows collection' and Eye lights.  

The Twi shadows is actually a Twilight inspired eyeshadow collection and has shades inspired by all the characters of the Cullen Family & of course Bella-Guess what is Bella's shade called? "Just Bitten"

 Glamour Doll eyeshadows has recently released their Blogger collection- 12 eyeshadow shades inspired by Internet Beauty Gurus.I'm already eying all some of the shades from the collection :P

My lipstick haul from New Beauty Center, Khar Mumbai

Few months back (5 to be precise) Tanveer (from Addicted to blush) did a post about a seemingly magical Beauty store-called New Beauty center (in Khar S.V. Road) Mumbai. It totally piqued my interest & I added it to my Mumbai To do check List.I went to Mumbai many times since October but never really got time to go shopping, but this time I had a long(ish) stay and my hotel was literally stone throw distance from this store,so I decided to haul some makeup from NBC.

Day 1 Sunday 6.00 pm-I went from the airport straight to the shop-& guess what-Shop closed! Dang what a bummer! Apparently stores in this area are closed on Sunday...Never mind I decided to catch up with friends & went to Colaba, Fort and Gateway of India to do general TP...got stuck in jams due to Kala Ghoda festival and then feasted on some awesome Chinese at All Stir Fry The Gordon House Hotel Restaurants in Colaba..after that went to a nice patisserie for dessert (sorry can't remember the name), so the good food uplifted my mood slightly.

Day 2- Monday- I rushed in to the store at 8.20 pm and felt like a kid in candy store-I ogled at the NYX counter -I mean the entire range of NYX stuff which till now I had to buy by guesstimating the shade online was-here right in front of me.Boots, Bath and Body works,Body Shop and all my beloved brands were were right there. Was this place for real???- while I looked around in daze I spotted Jordana,VOV,Chambor,Faces,Colorbar,Lotus,Lakme,Max Factor, Revlon,Streetwear.. and then some more I don't remember the names of....

The energy was crackling in the store!The place was brimming with girls,their moms and ladies of all stripes with a maddening zeal for makeup.... it was a task just to check out products with such incredible rush.All makeup counters had discounts on the retail prices ranging between 10%-30%

While I swatched a few brands and hunted around for some shades on my wish list, I just managed to pick up 1 lipstick and suddenly I realized all the counters were closing and the SAs were filing out of the store!! 

I asked around and was told- Sorry Ma'am closing time! Out came a silent scream 'Nahiiiiiiiiiiiiiin aisa nahi ho sakta!' I felt like Tragedy Queen-crestfallen and heartbroken I headed back to my hotel :(

Day 3-I reached Khar at 8.50 pm- Shop closed!! Oh-my! I get enough exercise just pushing my-luck! :(

Day 4- With a missionary zeal,determined to make it anyhow to New Beauty center before closing time, I wrapped up work quickly and rushed back and reached by 8 pm- Voila! store was open and had sparse crowd-I went on a swatch fest. So finally managed to snag 3 more lippies and some nail enamels (sorry couldn't find it when I photographed rest of my haul). 

I can honestly tell you this is one of the best places I have shopped for makeup in India.The collection of such wide variety of Indian and International brands, all under one roof, very helpful (& non pushy) SAs,great discounts,fresh stock and the energy of the place are thrilling!

Here's some of the stuff I snagged.[Btw I'm feeling like Cat that ate the canary- I've bought 10 lipsticks in under 14 days this month! Maximum number of lipsticks I have ever bought!!Gosh this is more than my entire lipstick collection! Z-O-M-G!! I've a 2nd trip to Mumbai coming up next week & at this rate I'll be going bust! I need to stay away from NBC this time round)

Overall Recco- If you are a makeup lover in Mumbai, there is no way you can miss this store. Definite must visit, best visited with your gal pals.

MAC and Inglot Valentine Haul !!

Have you seen the Seagram Imperial Blue Music CD advertisement 'Men will be Men'? The one in which a guy is consoling his friend  'coz his wife's week long official tour got cancelled?

Every time this ad airs on TV my hubby gives me this goofy grin (which needless to say, annoys me & yet melts my heart!)

I know you are wondering why am I talking about this ad- well Valentines Day is round the corner and boo hoo guess what I'm not going to be in town with my Man! I'll be traveling to Mumbai for 5 days for work.(Mumbai- here I come!I'm kind of hoping to check out legendary Beauty Center in Khar,lets see how that works out.)

So before I started packing,started my usual spiel ' I don't have anything to wear' (don't all girls say that?!)

On we went hauling work wear - you know the drill -formal striped trousers, boring button up shirts and blazers-duh!

But no shopping expedition is really complete without makeup,after my Shopper stop work wear shopping, I sauntered in to MAC outlet (store in Shoppers Stop at Vasant Kunj Mall) and hoping against hope asked the SA if Ruby Woo was in stock.The SA Ranaveer  was uber friendly and helpful,he gave me a sheepish smile and nodded 'Yes!'

He confided that usually the reds are always out of stock, if Ruby Woo is available then, Russian Red is out of stock & so on .. O-M-G I'd been waiting forever to get my paws on Ms. Ruby Woo (uh-huh, no that doesn't sound quite right, ours is strictly a platonic relationship ! ;D LOL).

I was just so thrilled so decided to splurge a bit, I wanted to try out some Lustre and creme sheen finishes & the SA picked out 5-6 shades for me to try out and another all time favorite caught my eye MAC Creme in Your coffee & I got that along, so Ms. Ruby Woo won't feel lonely :)

The Body Shop and Accessories tiny Haul

Its the last week of the End of Season sale and I decided to do some Mall ratting and haul some stuff.

I'd been eying The Body Shop's Midnight Bakula EDT for a while now, when I saw 50% Off on this I had to grab it.! Its a limited edition exotic perfume with floral & spicy fragrance and perfect for evening wear.

This is what TBS has to say about Midnight Bakula.

In case you are wondering about the Indian inspired motif on the perfume bottle, well its because Bakula is our very own 'Maha Gandhraj' and has medicinal value and used in Ayurveda

I thought this would look quite OTT but I was in for a pleasant surprise, 'coz these look very nice on me (so says Dear Hubby!) I love these :)

MY VACATION BEAUTY HAUL!

My Holiday shopping hangover continues and there is a reason why they say 'Bangkok has them now'. So when you leave a beauty junkie shopaholic unleashed in Bangkok its a recipe for excess baggage & empty wallet!

So here's what I hauled up on my latest vacay! I snagged 10 pairs of shoes & sandals, 6 handbags, 3 wallets, 2 belts, a turquoise necklace, an oil painting, handmade paper lamps, fairy lights,souvenirs,decor items, few outfits and all these bath & beauty goodies.

Now the weird thing is I actually wished I'd shopped some more!!! Argh.. I know I sound like a greedy lil piggy but what to do Bangkok tempts the shopper in me to no end!

This time I had resolved not to buy color cosmetics, till I exhaust my current stash and I'm pretty happy that barring 1 lippie I didn't fall oFf the wagon.Though I swear it took all my self restraint not to go swiping my credit card after swatching all those NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Cle de Peau  Beaute makeup! Oooh I'm getting light headed just thinking about all that makeup.

WEEKEND HAUL-MAC, REVLON, MAYBELLINE AND TBS

Hello my lovelies, this weekend has been super fun for me.I picked up tons of stuff , it was the festive spirit, the relaxing day off work and recovery from a bout of cold that made me shop,shop,shop.

I had a great time hauling some absolutely gorgeous cosmetics.Here's my first MAC purchase-MAC Select Sheer pressed powder.I also Got Revlon Photo Ready Foundation (bought online), Revlon Age defying Concealer (bought online),Revlon Colorburst lipgloss Papaya & 3 lip balm from The Body shop- Born Lippy flavors -Passionberry,Satsuma Shimmer & Strawberry and a repeat purchase of Maybelline Colossal Kajal.

MY WEEKEND HAUL-YIPPEE YAY!!!

Hey everyone, hope you guys had a great time over the weekend and had a great monday. I had a super fun weekend.Did a lot of Mall ratting, went to Ambiance Mall (Gurgaon), DLF Emporio, DLF Promenade & Ambiance Mall (Vasant Kunj) this weekend I shopped for a lot of my favorite goodies, got some relaxing spa treatments and feasted on some yummy yummy foods...all in all got spoilt silly by my hubby :)

I hauled stuff from Benetton, Latin Quarters,Iraya,The Body Shop, Lifestyle,Debenhams,New U etc etc..a few of the shopping bags are missing from the pics..well I was so super excited (& lazy) to gather all my shopping bag & click pics. I'm going to do individual posts on all my goodies so watch this space to find out all about mystery goodies in the baggies below.

DEBENHAMS SALE-RED HERRING SHOES HAUL

Hello my lovelies, it was a full fledged sale shopping day for me, I hauled few shoes & tons of tops,dresses etc etc.I went to Debenhams Outlet at Ambiance Mall Gurgaon and snagged 3 pairs of gorgeous Red Herring shoes .
Debenhams has a great collection of ladies shoes & these beautifies were on 50% Discount..enough to get my pulse racing, read on to more about my haul.

MINI HAUL

So my last post was '10 Tips to get rid of that back pain', it seems like I was tempting trouble with it 'coz the very next morning I took a tumble down a flight of stairs and hurt my back. Thankfully no serious injuries, but I had to take rest to recuperate my achy breaky back..so to cheer me up Dear Hubby decided to let me do some hauling.

I wanted to get some Make-up removing wipes,Face Scrub,Face Pack & Kajal so here's my Mini Haul, the earrings were just an impromptu purchase. I'm going to post all these products in details in my subsequent posts as I've received queries from few readers on Face pack & scrub recommendations. So watch this space for more.

MINI HAUL BATH & BODY WORKS-TRIPLE MOISTURE BODY CREAM-SENSUAL AMBER & CHERRY BLOSSOM

Hello My lovelies, I just want to flaunt my mini haul from Bath & body works (BBW), these were gifts from my cousin who was sweet enough to brings these over from US (BBW retails only in USA & Canada, though you can purchase it on ebay)

These ultra-moisturizing creams cost $12 a piece (approx INR 552 excluding shipping) & BBW usually has buy 2 get 1 free offers going on so you can get these cheaper during sale.

I simply love BBW triple moisturizing creams... they leave my skin feeling soft & luxurious,their quality is absolutely mind blowing & Body shop body butters are nowhere in comparison to these babies.(no intention of putting off any Bodyshop loyalits, I'm myself a Bodyshop regular but just love BBW to bits..)

Coming back to these two beauties-The texture of the cream is nice & thick,but its not oily or sticky and it sinks beautifully in to my skin...leaving oh-so-awesome.. in fact in the last pic I've applied the cream on the right side of my wrist & you can actually see how the skin looks smoother there..

My most favorite fragrances are Sensual Amber & Japanese Cherry blossom its a different fragrance as compared to Cherry blossom featured below). Sensual Amber is such a lovely & heady combination and has a beautiful lingering fragrance

Sensual Amber is perfect for evening &/or winter usage as it has the following signature notes

• Top Notes: Bergamot, Wild Berries, Succulent Plum
• Mid Notes: White Rose, Orange Flower, Lotus Petals, Iris
• Base Notes: Amber, Creamy Sandalwood, Vanilla, Patchouli, Praline, Musk

Cherry Blossom  is perfect for spring-summer as it has a far lighter fragrance composition.

• Top Notes: Dewy Watermelon, Green Lush Accord, Wisteria Petal, Red Plum
• Mid Notes: Cherry Blossom, Sheer Freesia
• Base Notes: Soft Musk, Sandalwood, Heliotrope

If you can lay your hands on these, stockpile them cause once you have used these you'll loathe to switch to any other body cream. If you have used these BBW creams do tell me what you think about them.
