Skin care,Body care and foot care lotions and potions haul

My Empties project made a major dent in my stash of lotions & potions and for once I was left scarcely any face cream,body lotions face wash,foot cream etc.I usually burn right through my fun money (read my makeup & toiletries budget) very quickly by splurging on makeup... (yes that is a separate expense head in my personal budget , which would exceed the GDP of a small nation :P) This time round barring my Sleek Haul,I decided to go easy on makeup and instead tank up on some much needed skin care ,body care & foot care stuff.

Yeah I know a face wash or night cream or a foot soak is hardly half as exciting as a juicy lip gloss or a bold lip color but then, to look good you need a good skin and ergo a whole bunch of potions. This time I decided to haul from Purplle.com and Flipkart.com.

Most of the stuff I ordered were repeat buys and I'd recommend these. Detailed product wise reviews coming right up.

From Purplle.com I hauled  Vaseline Cocoa body lotion, Shahnaz Hussain Shasilk Matte moisturizer, Shahnaz Hussain Beauty Balm,Himalaya Oil control lemon face wash & Nivea Oil regulating toner.
Purplle's services were good, though they didn't have one of my ordered item in stock, for which they issued me a store credit.Their customer services team was very prompt & courteous to both phone and email queries.
The delivery took 4 or 5 days which was a bit slow as per me.I used a 10% discount coupon from my Kotak credit card ,on my entire order.
Other thing is that they require minimum INR 499/- order size for availing free shipping. Which is fair from a business profitability point of view, it does keep me from ordering items on a whim...Hmmm.. what do you think about a minimum order quantity to be eligible for free shipping?

Foot care haul from Flipkart.com- Yes before playing footsie I do need a good pedi :D
Vedicline  Foot Soak,Vedicline nail & cuticle cream, Vedicline foot massage cream & Vega Nail file& cuticle remover.

This was my first time ordering Makeup & Beauty items from Flipkart.
Flipkart was extremely fast in their delivery, considering they had to deliver items locally within Delhi, they took under 24 hours to deliver my items,though a weird thing was that for the 4 items I had purchased they sent 4 different parcels to my place, each containing 1 item only. I mean one parcel came with a single nail file!!! Isn't that very unusual?
Overall I think I might be returning to Flipkart, I'm a restless soul and I want my goodies quickly!

Overall I'm very happy & very satisfied with my haul,now I'm heading off to give myself some TLC with my lotions. You Girls have a great day ahead :)

BOOTS NATURAL WILD STRAWBERRY BODY SCRUB

The packaging is simple and very functional,a chubby  transparent tube with flip cap lets you see the tempting berry red scrub. It looks very pretty and is incredibly functional packaging, allows enough product to be squeezed out prevents wastage and is far more hygienic than tub /jar shaped packaging (Hello TBS I'm talking to you!)

The scrub is gel based, the texture is thin cooling gel with soft rounded scrubbing granules.It has a luscious smell of strawberries and the the gel scrub melts into the skin and leaves it soft and smooth. Unlike many scrubs which have hard scrub granules and feel harsh on skin while scrubbing this has firm granules which give good scrubbing without irritating the skin.

Price -Around INR 300 for 200 ml (I bought mine in Thailand & Boots had a BOGO offer going on). Boots usually has Buy 2  get 1 free or even offers Buy 1 get 1 free around special occasions.A tube would easily last 3-4 months even with regular use and is a great value for money.

Overall Thoughts-Its a great little indulgence when you are trying to cut back on your bath product spending and if you can lay your paws on these, stock up!

BIOTIQUE WINTER CHERRY BODY LOTION-GUEST POST BY MEENU

MY VACATION BEAUTY HAUL!

My Holiday shopping hangover continues and there is a reason why they say 'Bangkok has them now'. So when you leave a beauty junkie shopaholic unleashed in Bangkok its a recipe for excess baggage & empty wallet!

So here's what I hauled up on my latest vacay! I snagged 10 pairs of shoes & sandals, 6 handbags, 3 wallets, 2 belts, a turquoise necklace, an oil painting, handmade paper lamps, fairy lights,souvenirs,decor items, few outfits and all these bath & beauty goodies.

Now the weird thing is I actually wished I'd shopped some more!!! Argh.. I know I sound like a greedy lil piggy but what to do Bangkok tempts the shopper in me to no end!

This time I had resolved not to buy color cosmetics, till I exhaust my current stash and I'm pretty happy that barring 1 lippie I didn't fall oFf the wagon.Though I swear it took all my self restraint not to go swiping my credit card after swatching all those NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Cle de Peau  Beaute makeup! Oooh I'm getting light headed just thinking about all that makeup.

Well I've spent the better part of my weekend with the Angel & Devil perched on my shoulders. So here is all I snagged (after much counseling by the Angel of Restraint) ...Wild Cherry shower Gel, Aqua Lily Body Wash, Aqua Lily Body Lotion,Aqua Lily Body Mist & Born Lippy Passion Berry Lip Balm.

All items except the lip balm had 50% off and the Born Lippy Lip balm had 10% Off. So All this cost me only INR 1071/-, The Shopping Devil has been  goading me to snag some more stuff.. who knows I might make another trip to TBS while the sales lasts :)

FIAMA DI WILLS MILD DEW BATHING BAR

Fiama Di Wills is a range of premium personal care products from ITC. Fiama di wills Bathing bar is transparent gel bathing bar available in 2 variants of Clear Springs and Mild Dew. There is apparently a third variant  with bearberry extracts, I've not yet seen this one in any outlet.

I picked up Mild Dew bathing bar with extracts of Avocado & Peach.The bar is shaped likea Dew Drop and I found the shape very attractive.

The unique technique, a first of its kind,  transparent liquid gel has been solidified into a bathing bar by freezing it and has won 'Product of the Year' in Soap category in 2010.

The product is endorsed by Deepika Padukone & claims to be backed by years of research & an amalgamation of Nature + Science.

The bar has nice soothing fragrance which lingers on and it doesn't leave skin feeling tight or stretched as it does with usage of regular soap. Tough the company claims rich lather from the product, I felt it doesn't lather too well. But I'm not a huge fan of suds so it works well for me.Its priced at INR 28 for 110 grams and is available in most department store/ kirana stores.

NOURISH BODY & BATH PRODUCTS-HONEY BEES BUZZ HANDMADE SOAP

Hey ladies I'd mentioned on my previous post that I did some beauty hauling today & here's the mystery finally un-veiled. I had picked up some stuff from Nourish & wanted to tell you all about it.

Nourish Body & Bath Products is Delhi based brand high on aromatherapy based products like, bathing bars, scrubs,lotions,lip balms etc.Nourish counters are available in DLF Place Saket & Vasant Kunj.Nourish also retails online through select vendors.

The very bright & cheerful Nourish carts have a fabulous selection of bath & body products at very affordable price. All the products are handmade & have cute packaging and smell amazing.I have bought Nourish bathing bars earlier & this time I picked Honey Bees Buzz- a bathing bar packed with the goodness of Honey,Beeswax,Vitamin E & Glycerin.This one smells of roses,honey and the embossed bees on the soap and amazing fragrance made this a must have for me. I tried this at home and it does lather well the fragrance lingers on the skin.Priced at INR 175/ for 150 grams its pricing is quite good.

Most of their bathing bars appear to be made using melt & pour technique and though handmade the finishing on these is gorgeous. Just check out the pics below & you'll know what I mean.(All bathing bars are priced between INR 145/- to INR 235/-

Strawberry bathing bar,watermelon bathing bar, the world soap,smiley face soaps,the zen like scrub soaps, bright & cheerful lemon soap,pink & white embedded rose soap, the ice cream cone soap, honey bees buzz body bar and a very quirky 'My soap bites' bathing bar which has a pair of dentures embedded in the soap!!

Nourish has some really interesting products like Cleopatra's bathing bar ,Madras Coffee scrub, Vanilla & Lavender lotion I'm going to try these out next & keep you guys posted. In case you have used Nourish products do let me know what you think.

FAB INDIA ORANGE AND CINNAMON FACE AND BODY GEL SCRUB is alight luscious gel scrub which has an intense & intoxicating combination of orange & cinnamon fragrance.

Its suitable for daily use, its made with natural active ingredients. It gently exfoliates the skin leaving you feeling refreshed and invigorated all day long. This has soft exfoliating granules which are good for full body scrubbing. It leaves a lovely lingering fragrance. Though the product claims to be for use as a face scrub, but the cinnamon makes it very strong for delicate facial skin & leaves a slight tingling /burning sensation. I use it only for body scrubbing & love it.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Propylene Glycol, Walnut Shell Powder, Carbopol 940, Aloe Vera Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Lactic Acid, Cinnamon Oil, Orange Oil, Allantoin

MINI HAUL BATH & BODY WORKS

MINI HAUL BATH & BODY WORKS-TRIPLE MOISTURE BODY CREAM-SENSUAL AMBER & CHERRY BLOSSOM

Hello My lovelies, I just want to flaunt my mini haul from Bath & body works (BBW), these were gifts from my cousin who was sweet enough to brings these over from US (BBW retails only in USA & Canada, though you can purchase it on ebay)

These ultra-moisturizing creams cost $12 a piece (approx INR 552 excluding shipping) & BBW usually has buy 2 get 1 free offers going on so you can get these cheaper during sale.

I simply love BBW triple moisturizing creams... they leave my skin feeling soft & luxurious,their quality is absolutely mind blowing & Body shop body butters are nowhere in comparison to these babies.(no intention of putting off any Bodyshop loyalits, I'm myself a Bodyshop regular but just love BBW to bits..)

Coming back to these two beauties-The texture of the cream is nice & thick,but its not oily or sticky and it sinks beautifully in to my skin...leaving oh-so-awesome.. in fact in the last pic I've applied the cream on the right side of my wrist & you can actually see how the skin looks smoother there..

My most favorite fragrances are Sensual Amber & Japanese Cherry blossom its a different fragrance as compared to Cherry blossom featured below). Sensual Amber is such a lovely & heady combination and has a beautiful lingering fragrance

Sensual Amber is perfect for evening &/or winter usage as it has the following signature notes

• Top Notes: Bergamot, Wild Berries, Succulent Plum
• Mid Notes: White Rose, Orange Flower, Lotus Petals, Iris
• Base Notes: Amber, Creamy Sandalwood, Vanilla, Patchouli, Praline, Musk

Cherry Blossom  is perfect for spring-summer as it has a far lighter fragrance composition.

• Top Notes: Dewy Watermelon, Green Lush Accord, Wisteria Petal, Red Plum
• Mid Notes: Cherry Blossom, Sheer Freesia
• Base Notes: Soft Musk, Sandalwood, Heliotrope
