A little beauty haul to kickstart the holiday season!

So I've been MIA from blogosphere for ages ...With a killer work schedule I haven't had a breather in months...but today after aeons I decided to finally dip my toes and test the waters of beauty blogging ;) 
I've been hopping around like a happy bunny today, it was a day full of pampering for me. A day at spa and a new hairdo later, it was time for some shopping and apart from the usual suspects of some new clothes and shoes I indulged in a bit of makeup :)

A few months back I posted about my meeting with Ellis Faas,Celebrity Makeup Artist who has worked with the world's most pre-eminent fashion designers, photographers, stylists, hairdressers and models & has been featured in top magazines in the world. Ellis has worked for make-up brands, such as Clinique, Lancôme and MAC Cosmetics – and she was asked by L'Oréal to create a make-up line for their skin care brand, Biotherm.

Ellis decided to put her insight and technical expertise to use while creating her own makeup brand-'Ellis Faas'.Today I'm reviewing a beautiful lipstick from Ellis's range its called Ellis Faas Creamy lips.
It is a long-wear lipstick that provides pure colour, and a shiny finish that lasts overtime. It gives superior comfort both in application and on lips. Plumping actives improve hydration and smooth your lips.

Ellis Red a.k.a. LC 101 is a rich sumptuous color,this blood red lipstick transcends age and color and is universally flattering. This is a retro shade and an Ellis Faas cult classic.Its “Human Colour” and therefore suitable for each skin tone, age or style.

For classic definition: the texture of this highly pigmented, covering lipstick gives great definition to your lips, both as a fully covering shade, but also as a mere stain. ACTIVE INGREDIENTS - Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Candelilla Wax, Prune Seed Extract.


It has No scent. No taste. No parabens. No animal testing.

How to apply-Use Creamy Lips with the spongy applicator first by painting the lips with just a small amount of lipstick, then fully load the applicator to fill inside of the lips. Creamy Lips is also great for a more stained effect: just load a tiny bit of the lipstick onto the applicator, apply and blot for a matte stain.

Revlon Colorburst lip butter 'Red velvet' is a its a super luxe and sensuous oxblood color perfect for the Autumn-Winter season and is currently trending the runways.

Now Girls,don't get your PETA-panties in a bunch, contrary to what your first thought might be about oxblood-it being... well-'Ox' blood!, it isn't actually supposed to have any such gory origins. 
Oxblood refers to a dark brownish red shade, which resembles dried oxidized blood, hence the name 'Oxblood'.

Packaging of Revlon Colorburst Lip butters follows the same design family as the diamond pattern we have seen on the colorburst lipstick and lipglosses.The tube is metallic and the outer casing translucent plastic in the same shade as that of the lipstick,there is also a clear window on top and color coded sticker at the base to help you spot your lippie in a jiffy. The packaging is pretty, albeit a bit flimsy.

The colorburst lipbutter lasts for around 2  hours on my lips after which a it fades away with a nice burgundy reddish tint and a hint of glossiness on my lips.

The pricing- In US these are priced at approx $ 7.5 (varies from store to store) though usually you can snag them on a BOGO (buy one get one offer), no such luck for makeup addicts in India we have to fork out Rs 600/- bucks a piece.
The quantity we get in each of these lip butter tubes is also incredibly low at just 2.55 grams,considering these are balmy textured lippies with low wear time, and need for frequent reapplication,there is a very good chance of finishing these up pretty quickly.

 Three swipes, the shade looks much more intense and has a hint of burgundy which my camera is not picking up in the pictures.

Revlon colorburst Red Velvet,its a classy red when worn sheer.It looks very chic and sophisticate oxblood red when you swipe it on 3 times.
Medium to dusky toned Divas would totally rock Red Velvet.Highly recommend it!

Say Hello to juicy lips with Colorbar True Gloss Lip gloss in pink stain

Colorbar's True Gloss designers were not scrimping in the pigments department when they set out to create True Gloss, these intensely pigmented, glossy long wearing lip glosses are smoking H.A.W.T!!


I picked a neon bright hot pink shade called Pink stain. It has a slight hint of coral but its really a bright neon fuchsia.
Anybody else feels that the packaging reminds you of MAC Cremesheen lip gloss? Raise your hands please!!

Hmmm.. every time I think of Pink Cadillac the cheesy thought of Abhishek Bacchhan in Dostana movie,wearing pink & white floral shirt, driving around his powder pink Cadillac flashes in my head...Ahem ahem not the most drool worthy thought ;)

Well thank fully Sleek pout polish Pink Cadillac came to my rescue and gave me something totally worth drooling over!

How damn pretty is it, c'mon Sleek this is soo tempting that its almost illegal for a makeup to look so delish!
This pinky cool toned lip conditioner is smooth and slick gives a nice glossy finish.It has a coconutty flavor with a hint of slightly bitter aftertaste, but nothing too over powering.

MAC and Beth Ditto Prolong wear lip cream Booyah!

Booyah!!! with a name like that its hard to ignore a lipstick, its harder when it is a bright orange matte lip cram and comes from the House of M.A.C. and designed in collaboration with Beth Ditto!

Just when I thought that there cant be any more variety in orange lipstick-after all haven't we seen them all?-MAC Morange,MAC So Chaud,MAC Lady Danger,Inglot 103,Chambor Orange Flambe and Colorbar Velvet Matte Obsessed Orange!! MAC goes right ahead and surprises us with another Bright yet surprisingly wearable dark orange lipstick! 

God, seriously where were orange lippies all my life when I thought duskier divas like me were only destined to wear browns and plums?! Well I wasn't much into citrus flavours or colors but now I'm on a serious Orange trip! ;) And I'm so glad for more option, c'mon what Girl can say No to a pop of bright color?

MAC & Beth Ditto Prolong wear lip cream Booyah! is a limited edition shade and it is close to MAC Morange ,yet I find this more wearable. Booyah is also more muted as compared to Lady Danger & So Chaud. Colrobar Obsessed orange is more vivid and orangier (if that is a word)

The prolong wear lip creams come in a sleeker lipstick tubes, the casing is matte to reflect the demi matte finish of the lip creams.Unlike the regular lipsticks with pointed tip this one has a rounded tip and its does require some precision to get the lipstick on especially round the lip corners , as compared to the regular lippies.

Priced at RS 1400/- for 3 grams

Prolong wear lip creams are supposed to last for 12 hours though it stayed on for close to 7 hours on my lips with a meal in between. It has a creamy opaque,demi matte finish and the shade doesn't feather at all. Though you need well exfoliated lips to pull it off.
I also topped it off with Sleek Pout Polish in Electro peach just to brighten it up, both the shades got along like a house on fire and surprisingly even after topping it with a tinted lip conditioner it didn't fade or bleed.
