Coastal Scents Hot Pot Brandeis Blue Review and swatches

Brandeis Blue Hot Pot from Coastalscents is a bright vivid cerulean blue,it has dazzling purple iridescence and a foil finish.

Available at www.coastalscents.com for $1.99.Coastal scents earlier only had numbers for their hot pots eyeshadows, now they have added easy to remember names, the numbering is mentioned at the base of the pan.
You get a 1 inch Metal pan containing highly pigmented eye shadow for multiple applications. Each Coastal Scents Hot Pot™ fits snuggly into either  4 Piece or 12 Piece Empty Magnetic Palettes. These custom palettes contain magnets in a soft neoprene padding which attract the metal pan of the Hot Pot™. This allows you to completely customize your palette to create any look by simply adding interchangeable Hot Pots™ from our vast collection of shades, hues, and finishes.

OFFER-If you buy 12 Hot pots in a single order from Coastalscents you get 1 Empty magnetic palette Free!

Do note the shade on the website is totally unlike the real shade so make sure you check out swatches online before placing your order.

Here's the swatch on bare skin. The pigmentation & texture is decent & it compares well with budget / drugstore brand quality.

Overall Thoughts-The Hot pots are a good value for money if you are starting out your eyeshadow collection and don't want to invest in very expensive makeup to start with. However if you are looking for very high quality eyeshadow remember the quality is no where close to MAC or Inglot eyeshadows. These are comparable to 120 eyeshadow palette in texture & quality.

Have you tried Coastalscents Hot Pots? What's you take on them? Comment & Tell

    1. May I suggest instead of Inglot you try out Glamor doll eyeshadows- they are the most seriously pigmented and smoothest shadows I've used!
They are loose shadows and you can buy 0.5 grm/ 1 gram sample baggies and are very pocket friendly at $1.25 for sample baggies.
Try out shade called Blue ribbon, Tattooed & Trophy wife.I use of GDE shadows in most of my EOTDs and these look far better than all my other shadows.I have some swatches on my blog under Glamor doll eyeshadows in case you wana check them out and my affiliate link is

  4. I was looking at coastal scents website just yesterday, trying to figure out what should I buy, most of the colors in hot pots are gorgeous,I got totally confused.Do they stay on long enough.my eyelids are very oily.

    1. I've only used these with a eyeshadow base so they seem to last around 6 hrs or so on my oily lids. Personally I'd suggest you to try the 120/88/pre made palettes instead of buying these individual hot pots

    1. I haven't bought pigments from CS yet,but have seen reviews of their mica pigments. The quantity of the pigments that CS sells is enormous, so unless you can teem up with some friends and then buy and split the pigments it wouldn't make sense buying gigantic jars of eyeshadows ingredients that are impossible to finish. However If you are quite serious about pressing your own shadows & have friends to share them with then go right ahead

    1. Hmmm, its a bit tricky to spot a dupe for this one 'coz of the purple iridescence. If you are interested keep a look out, I might add this in my upcoming blog sale
