So lets get started on the Review & swatches of NYX round Lipsticks- Lala & Perfect

NYX Round Lipsticks in Perfect & Lala

My Review: As most of you may know, I won these 2 lipsticks during Indian Beauty Central’s NYX giveaway. These are my first NYX products & having heard so much about the lipsticks, I was super excited to use these. I’ve worn them for about a month or so & I completely understand the hype. These are a real treat for lipstick lovers like me.  Even though these lipsticks are supposed to be available in a staggering 144 shades, only a tiny fraction of these are available in India.

Packaging: I love the simple black, round tubes. They are classy & sleek. The tubes have the name & number of the shade on top of the lid, which makes it easy to identify if you have several of these. In any case, the bottom of the case is transparent & you can see the actual shade. I’ve read a few reviews where people said that the tubes felt a little flimsy. I didn’t find this to be the case & found the tubes to be as sturdy as any of my other lipsticks.

Net Wt: 4 gms

Price 395/- in India, you can buy it online from Cherryculture.com,ebay.com, porkdaisy.com for around $4 +shipping. Cherryculture usually has some discounts on offer, so you can buy these for lesser.

Smell: The lipsticks have a slightly ‘soapy’ smell, which is pleasant & subtle.

Ingredients: Bees Wax, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Ceresin, Microcrystalline Wax, Polyethylene, Mineral Oil, Octyldodeanol, Polyisobutene, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Diisostearyl Malate, Polyglyceryl -2 Triisostearate, Isostearyl  Isostearate, Bis-Digylceryl Polyacyladipade-2, Tocopheryl Acetate, B.H.A,  Mica, Pigment (C.I)

Formulation: These are oh-so-creamy! They just glide on so easily & melt onto your lips. The shades are super pigmented & just 1 swipe deposits enough punch of colour.

Claim/Description: NYX Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all-year round. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping 144 shades.

Perfect on the Left, Lala on the Right

Perfect LSS 608: This is the ‘perfect’ shade for me. It’s a gorgeous, warm brownish pink which looks incredibly natural on me. It’s perfect for those no-makeup makeup looks and great for work. This is the sort of colour that will suit all skin tones. It will be a fantastic MLBB for some.

Lala LSS 612: This is a plumy purple shade, with a little pink in it. This too will suit a wide variety of skin tones.

What I like:
1. Gorgeous shades that suit Indian skin tones. Plenty of shades available if you’re buying online.
2. Great pigmentation.
3.Very creamy & moisturizing. Don’t need to apply lip balm under these & women with dry lips will like this a lot.
4.Feels very light, like you’re not wearing anything.
5.Lasts quite long. You’ll still have a nice tint after meals. However, this is not a long lasting lipstick.
6.If bought in India, these are fairly cheap when compared to the higher end ‘drug store’ brands like Revlon & L’Oreal. If bought online, these are almost always available with offers/discounts.
7.I really like the classy black packaging. It’s easy to find the correct shade even when you’re rushed.
8.Easily available from foreign online stores & fairly inexpensive too.
9. Hypoallergenic.
10.Cruelty Free – No animal testing or animal products.

What I dislike:
1.These are so creamy that they will surely melt a little in the summers. I may have to store them in the fridge. This means that women in humid cities may not be able to carry them in the handbags.
2.Due to the creamy formulation, the lipsticks might break if you apply too much pressure while applying them. Handle with care.
3.In India it’s available only in certain stores, at a much higher cost. Also, very few shades are available in India.
4.No shelf life mentioned.

Note: If you’re buying online, be sure to Google for swatches as the swatches on sites are not at all accurate.

Rating: 4/5

Will I purchase: Yes, I’m already eying Cappuccino

Recommend: Definitely. These are gorgeous. Whether you buy them online or from stores, be sure to buy at least 1.
