Designer Bhakti Shah Unveils Bridal Collection

As the marriage seasons kicks in, the country with a big appetite for the life altering event is gearing up for the razzmatazz that surrounds India’s favourite celebrations. Bridal wear in India  is considered as an epitome of the cultural values; keeping this in mind, fashion designer Bhakti Shah, renowned for her bridal designs has unveiled her collection for the upcoming wedding season. The designs with her trademark vibrant hues, were showcased at the Brides of Mumbai, a bridal exhibition in Mumbai which also featured designs by Shaina NC, Sarika D, Shruti Shah and among others.


Following the tradition of Rohit Bal, Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, Bhakti Shah has always experimented with her choice of vibrant colours, distinctive designs and the variety of Indian fabrics. Says Bhakti Shah, “Indian bride has surely evolved to be more assertive and experimenting. She craves for more individualistic appearance without disturbing the traditional framework. The vibrant colours in my designs seek to elevate the inner beauty and individuality of the bride.”

Mumbai-based designer has received her training in fashion from J.D.Institute of Fashion & Technology, which boasts the alumni like Rocky S, Satish Sikha, and Maheka Mirpuri. Bhakti Shah has been involved in the fashion industry for last seven years. Her first fashion store, Signature Couture Store at Matunga showcases her passion for creativity offering the widest collections of Bridal Wear, Cocktail dresses, Trousseau, different drapes & fusions.

Bhakti Shah believes in contemporary bridal wear which looks fabulous without much jewellery. Her embroidery work includes Zarodozi, Gota, Kasab, Resham and Swarovski and her love towards our Indian fabrics like Lucknowi, Chanderi, Jamewar, Bandhani, Silks, Banarasi, etc. Bhakti Shah not only specializes in bridal wear but also has the collections of different drape dresses, cocktail dresses, gowns and other western wear with a dose of metal embroidery.

Bhakti Shah also has a wide range of trousseau in the recently unveiled collection. Adds Bhakti Shah, “This collection has elegant fabrics and fresh colours adorned with embroidery. Saris were the highlight of this collection along with sensuous lehengas, shararas and corsets. We got a tremendous response for our bridal designs at the recently held bridal exhibition.”
