MAC RUBY WOO- TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY?

My quest for the perfect red lipstick has been on for a while now and today I decided to finally pick a true red lippie.None of the sheer, tinted, glossy, glazy red business for me ,I wanted bold matte red, think hot Ferrari Red.
So I went on a swatch fest staring from Revlon Really Red to 9 red shades from Inglot (sorry cant remember all the numbers!), 2 from Elizabeth Arden and 7 red lippies from MAC (Russian Red, So chaud, Ramblas Red, Cockney,Dubonnet,Ruby Woo,Brave Red).
Finally I zeroed down on MAC Russian Red & Ruby Woo, Inglot Red lipstick number 408 & 176.

Lip swatches were an altogether different business, Russian Red (blue based matte red, extremely bright & highly pigmented) looked too bright for me.Inglot lippies well I was over the fence with the shades, so finally I decided on MAC Ruby Woo- an ultra dry matte, blue based retro red.
Ta da ,just when I thought my 2 hours of research was finally yielding result, the SA sprang up the surprise on me- "Sorry we are out of stock " Ugh all my glam Red lipstick dreams came crashing down, I rushed to the second MAC store in the nearby mall- dang again out of stock!

Guess I'll have to wait before I get my paws on this one. Here are the lip swatches.

Tell me if you think its a worthy buy or I should try some other matte red? Any reccos will be highly appreciated

  2. Ok my 3 favorite reds in 3 different finishes are:
Inglot lip crayon in no21. Totally matte, intense colour, looong lasting. Highly recommend. My personal favorite. True red.
NYX soft matte lip cream in Monte Carlo. A blue based lip cream that dries to a matte finish. Looks lovely. Very vintage-y.
Revlon colorburst lipgloss in Fire. Glossy, opaque true red. No shimmer or glitter.

  4. I loved this lipstick too and it truly looks gorgeous on you. The only thing is my lips are extremely dry and flaky so these matte lipsticks dont work for me. I like Revlon Colorburst True Red.

  7. Mac Chili is a good option , an orange based red. I guess there is another option from the viva glam range.Have you tried Revlon Fabulous fig from the matte range? A complementing neutral red ( almost red) for our skin tone.
