Its the season of festivities, with Karva Chauth round the corner and Diwali just a few weeks away followed by Wedding Season here in India. Its time to pull out your festive finery & deck up.Festive makeup begins with festive eyes.

As one of my favorite saree is a beautiful emerald green with antique gold work. So I decided to base my EOTD on the shades of my favorite saree :)

Makeup brushes you'll need

1.Eyeshadow brush-two brushes
2. Felt tipped Smudger brush
3. Blending brush
4.A tiny size zero brush for applying color to inner eye corner

My bare eyes sans makeup (sorry about the blurry pictures, still trying to figure out settings on my digicam )

1st Step is to  prime the eyes, use whatever primer you have at hand, Urban Decay Primer Potion/ Too Faced Eyeshadow insurance/ else use a home made primer. I have used Revlon Age Defying liquid concealer to create a clean base.

2nd Step Use Lakme Nine to five Defining Eyeliner in 03 Jade close to your upper lashline in very light strokes. You don't need to be very precise as we'll be smudging this to create a base for the dark green eyeshadow.

Gradually fill in the Lakme Nine to five Defining Eyeliner in 03 Jade and use a smudge brush (else use a Q tip if you don't have a smudge brush)

(I have omitted pics of some of the intermediate steps as the images were quite blurred)

Step 3, use a eyeshadow brush and take the dark parrot green shade from 120 eyeshadow palette and pat it on the  base created by the Lakme Jade eyeliner pencil, leaving the innermost corner of your eyelid. Make sure you follow the contours of your eyes while patting on the green eyeshadow & don't extend it beyond your eyelid's outer corner.

Step 4- Take another brush and pick up the antique gold shadow, I've used Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadow -Pearl 405. Start filling in the anitque gold shade from your innermost eye corner and build the color to the middle of your eyelid where the shade will merge into the green eyeshadow  applied earlier. Now blend blend blend. No harsh line should be visible and both green & gold should merge beautifully.

Step 5 Take a blending brush (if you have a tapered blending brush then its much better) take the tiniest swipe of a black eyeshadow (you can use any black powder eyeshadow) blow off all the excess powder and gently emphasize the outer v of your eyes.

Step 6 Take the size zero brush and pick up some antique gold shadow and apply near the innermost corner of your eyes (near your tear ducts)

Step 7 Apply Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow (or any other gold based highlighter shade of your choice) under the highest point of you eyebrow arch and gently blend it in to the green 7 gold shadow so there is no harsh line.

Step 8 Apply Lakme Nine to Five Intense Shine Eyeliner-Olive (Liquid eyeliner)on your upper lashline and gently wing it at the outer eye corner.

Step 9-Apply Lakme Nine to five Defining Eyeliner in 03 Jade on your lower lash line till the center point and the Colorbar I-Define Eye Pencil in Desert Glow 002 in the innermost corner, gently merge these shades at the center of your lower lashline.

Step 10- Curl your lashes and apply generous coats of mascaras & apply Colossal Kajal on your waterline.

Here's the final look, hope you liked it. Do leave a comment behind & let me know your thoughts.
